I was told this is a site with expertise on cats so I came here.
My wife did not take our cat to be fixed like I told her to do and the cat got pregnant.
She went over to under an old shed to have the kittens and nursed them there, too.
Now the kittens are a couple of months old and are starting to move around some, but they are very afraid of humans even though they see the mother around us. They run under the shed when anybody comes near them.
They are starting to get too old to nurse, so I don't know what they will do for food since they want come near anyone.
Does anybody know what we should do about those kittens?
Keep your nasty, cruel crap to yourself!
Tsk, tsk. Such language.
You're awfully sensitive.
Here is some suggested reading for the weekend. Have a good one!
I happen to know the guy who took the pic. The cat was actually sleeping. Chill out! It's a friggin joke, and it's not like it was a good animal like a dog. Jeez.
Thanks bro.
Yes, and sitting all of her on my chest as she stomped.
Have a Great weekend!
You'll soon have them trailing you around like puppies.
We are also experts on bunnies and pancakes, and a creature known as a 'bunnitty'.

You want to fix your cat, is she broken?
HEHE, the Isle of Man cats with no tails!
LOL!! haha.. I love you anyway CD even if you are a big gaping errr...hole :D
Bunnicula!
Bunnicula? Someone else calls it bunnitty!
I think I need that book - after another flame war with IRA supporters on an Irish thread!!
He looks like a bunnitty....
It was an exercise in futility and frustration. Knowing that the cats were probably hungry and being the sucker that I am, I got the bright idea that if they were getting plenty to eat, maybe they would leave the birds alone so I started putting dry cat food on the back porch. Oh yeah. That worked real well. < /sarcasm > Next thing I knew, 2 became at least 6...and one of the original ones was very pregnant. I suspect that she is probably the mother of 3 of the others. Those 3 are older kittens...probably 6-8 months (funny I'd never seen them around at all before). Another of the cats apparently belongs to a neighbor and I had seen that one around occasionally, only now, seems she took it as an open invitation. Now, when I get up in the morning and open the blinds, I have several cats perched about waiting on their morning handout. One of them, after breakfast, likes to sit on the porch rail facing straight toward the window and he amuses himself by watching me as if I was a giant mouse or some strange puzzle.
So I've been saying, "these cats have got to go!" Problem is...how and where. I finally went to the Humane Society and got a trap this past week, at which time they basically told me that when I caught them, it was MY problem what to do with them. They won't take them because they are unadoptable. Their suggestions were "take them to the vet and get them fixed" (at my own expense), and bring them back and turn them loose or "euthanize them"...also at my own expense. Neither is an acceptable option, in my opinion. If I got them fixed and brought them back, the only problem I've solved is that THESE cats are no longer fertile. There is still the bird and squirrel issue, besides having become responsible for the cats, so as long as I'm putting food out, there will be more. Besides the fact that the cats themselves are a problem, I really do NOT have the time to mess with it (it took me a month to finally get the trap). Don't get me wrong; I love cats and I know that they're just doing what comes naturally, but I can't handle finding scattered feathers and partially consumed squirrel carcases in the yard. Besides, it is a deterrent to the birds I work so hard at attracting.
I seldom see the original cat any more. Actually, I think the original two cats are probably someone's abandoned pets. The pregnant one is not wild and after she got used to me, she practically stormed the door of a morning. She's very sweet and affectionate. She's also probably nursing a new litter under my house as I'm typing. I haven't seen her for several days. I've even considered adopting her. Some of you know that I lost my precious Nermal, after nearly 18 years, not long ago....in fact, just about the time the first 2 cats started showing up. He is buried under a tree in the back yard in a location with a view of all the feline goings on. I can't help thinking he has a hand paw in this. I just can't figure out if he is amusing himself or if he just doesn't want me to be lonely.
Anyway, advice would be welcome...as long as it doesn't involve harming the cats. I have got to do something before it gets worse.
.
Boy, I wish I had a clue what to do about this. I adopted a stray once after it had lurked in the neighborhood for a few weeks, but Rudy was clearly adapted to people and not feral. I have learned from this story, however, to never, ever feed feral cats.
