Hmmm, I've heard of neura nets being used since the 1980's and I remember I read one book when I was in junior high where scientists proposed growing brain cells into a neural network and this had been done on a small scale. The date of the book was 1965 where they tried a 20 cell network. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the book or heard of it since. Would be a good start to base Damocles on.
