Police: Man Severely Beaten With Cowboy Boots
Attackers Escape Empty-Handed
POSTED: 1:49 pm EST November 8, 2005
Authorities said an Ypsilanti Township man was attacked and beaten with his cowboy boots during a robbery attempt on Monday.
The 27-year-old man was leaving an apartment in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard at about 7 p.m. when he was attacked by several people, Sheriff's Cmdr. Dave Egeler told the Ann Arbor News.
Attackers knocked the man to the ground, pulled off his boots, and used them to severely beat the man in the face, Egeler told the paper.
The victim was able to escape, but collapsed in the grass of a neighboring apartment building, Egeler said. He suffered serious injuries to his face, according to the paper.
The attackers apparently fled the scene empty-handed.

The attackers apparently fled the scene empty-handed. You mean they left behind the boots?

Same way around here. You couldn't pay me to live in the city of Jackson but the outlying county is great.

The whole shoe-beating thing, a grave insult in the Muslim world.
