Some big matchups this week. A big NFC East matchup between Philly and Washington...but there's no T.O. How will that affect the Iggles? Plus, tremendous NFC South battle for first place: the Panthers visit the Buccaneers' home town. And of course, on Monday night...we'll see if the Colts can get over the Patriot-hump.

New York Football Giants Ping List

Ping Ultra Sonic 007 to get on or off this ping list.

Well G-Men fans, we shall see today if Eli can win his first road game ever in the NFL...and we'll also see if the dreaded 'letdown game' that was so common under Fassel (remember New York's trouncing of Minnesota 34-13 a couple of years ago? They immediately lost their next game) will rear its ugly head with Coughlin at the helm...but for some reason, I'm not so worried. :^)

Also, there's an NFC East battle to watch; I have to say I'm rooting for the Skins', as the Giants have already beaten them once. We haven't faced the Eagles yet.

And Dallas has a bye. So they don't win or lose...but we do catch up in games played. :-P

Lets see what 49er team shows up...the team that surprised TB last week or the team that got blown out by Philly. I think the Giants will win easily, but anything can happen.

Funny you mention it, but I do not have the same sort of fear I used to have when we had a game like this. The players and Coughlin are acutely aware of this history based on the noise they've been making in the media this past week. We can only wait and hope.

The one bothersome thing carried over from last week's game is the continued bad bad play of the secondary. The 'skins dropped a dozen balls (at least) and the game might have been very different if they had held on to even half of them. Will Allen, Gibril Wilson, Shaun and Deloatch better step it up against the farty whiners or it might get ugly. This rodeo quarterback they have is a tough kid and could surprise.

Giants haven't beaten the 49ers since 1991, 14 years ago. Last time in SF was that disastrous playoff loss. G-Men played lousy on west coast trip earlier this year. Eli still hasn't won on the road. And they're coming off a huge emotional game.

Yet the Giants are 11-point road favorites. Wow.

But so what. G-Men 30-13.

Howard Eskin was saying it would be a five year deal and that his source said it was "99% done".  For whatever that's worth.  I'm not an Eskin fan, but the guy has good sources.

He also said that one of the incidents that occurred this week was a fistfight between T.O. and Hugh Douglas (still employed by the team in a front office type capacity).  Apparently, Douglas called T.O. out for milking the ankle injury.

Also, after T.O.'s statements, he'd promised the team that he'd make a public applogy to not just the team, but Donovan in particular.  T.O. read the portion to the team but not to Mac and that's what sealed his fate.  Mac is said to be furrious with T.O., and I've never heard him described that way in all his time here.

Terrell Owens. Brought to you by ESPN.

As much as I loathe ESPN's brand of sports "journalism", I'm thankful for their role in getting Mr. Owens off of my team, once and for all.

If that means the season is lost, so be it. I'd rather lose without Terrell Owens than win with him.

Heaven help whoever takes him next.

Owens' plan all along was to fake the ankle injury after Week 10 (when his contractual obligation to the team for 2005 was fulfilled). By complaining about it now, he was just laying the groundwork for his escape.

Obviously, his teammates knew what was up.

The whole T.O. episode has been kind of a shock to me.  First off, I NEVER thought the team would sign him, just based on the fact that Reid has such a distaste for bud guys (Terrance Carrol where are you now?)

Then, I never thought he could be as productive as he was last season.   Maybe Randall in his prime was the last time I remember seeing an Eagle take over a game like that.

And lastly, I never realized someone could be such a psychopathic jerk like what we're being treated to by T.O. this year.

Me either. And that's so uncharacteristic of most Giants fans, that I'm worried about not being worried.....
