This is it..With nearly five thousand dollars in Pennsylvania State Education Association PAC money already being used against them, not to mention the nasty and negative publicity spread by the Democrat Dover CARES candidates and the local liberal papers, the eight GOP school board candidates are blitzing churches today, running radio ads and trying to reach voters before the election on Tuesday in any way they can. The only school district in our county that didn't raise taxes this year and that eliminated two administration positions to create two teaching positions. Teachers getting an average of over 48-thousand dollars a year plus 18,000 dollars of benefits paid for by the taxpayers. And yet, PSEA is demanding a 19.1 percent pay raise this year while the board offers 4 percent with a 1 percent merit raise possible. The board is also asking teachers to pick up 10 percent of the cost of their own medical benefits, they now pay that much for other family members. You've heard about intelligent design, but the Dover School board is rarity in PA, A REAL CONSERVATIVE SCHOOL BOARD. Don't let the liberals take it out?

The creationist Dover school board members embarrassed themselves so badly on the witness stand during the trial, they will be slapped down hard by the judge's ruling.

The only question now is whether the ruling will be a narrow one that says the Dover school board tried to get creationism into the science classes, or will it be a wider ruling that Intelligent Design is a form of creationism.

Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if the plaintiffs bill the school board for their legal fees. Will the Thomas More Law Center pay the school board's costs? I wonder.

Creationism is a cancer on conservatism. The "Dover First" slate brought this on themselves. It's a pity.

I'd rather have them than the cultural Marxists whose rhetoric is nothing different that that on the DU. People who ally themselves with the ACLU, Morris Dees, and Barry Lynn are not conservatives and not in any position to lecture us on what conservatives are.

You may be right on the ruling from the judge based on his
joining with the ACLU to pressure school board members on the stand, but the school board will raise money through
donations if they have to pay lawyers fees for the ACLU.
The cancer on conservatism is the humanistic, libertarian
hostility to "religion." Without "religious" support our movemment stands no chance of winning elections and libertarian ideas of less government are going nowhere. I
respect libertarian and humanistic people and they must respect those who believe that God created the earth and
understand we can all work together for some good. (To stop wasteful spending, cut the size of government and its
power). Freedom should involve the religious idea of protecting life (abortion, euthanasia) and the secular idea of protecting property (eminent domain, environmental rules). Then lets get the government off our backs otherwise.

How about the government dumbing down school science standards in order not to hurt anybody's feelings?

Intelligent design isn't dumbing down..What science teaches today is different from 100 years ago and will be different
100 years from now. People will laugh at what we taught in the future. I think the obsesssion with evolution will be looked at with laughs. Freedom is important and freedom of idea and actions (eating, smoking and thinking) is imporant now. Laws about "obesity",smoking bans and hate
crime laws scare people who believe in freedom like me.

I'm sorry, but ID is dumbing down of science standards.

The junk science that you mentioned has a lot in common with ID - it's the triumph of fuzzy-headed feelings over reason. Its proponents want it to be true, so to them it must be, and that's all the "proof" IDers can offer.

Evolution has good, hard science behind it. You might choose to reject that science because it doesn't fit with your personal preferences, but that doesn't make it so.

I agree that there are some dumb ideas trying to wear the garb of science. But just because they are doesn't mean that we should go looking for more, or excuse those that are.

ID is a stealth attempt to poke the camel's nose under the tent just as junk-food laws are an attempt to introduce new governmental regulation. Bad science all around, and must be fought at all costs.
