To: Flavius Josephus

"Flavius finds it amusing to refer to Himself in the third person, use the Royal."

Kinda like the character Gollum in LOTR?

"I have a little crush on Drew Carey."

Ever heard of Clive Owen? He's truly dreamy.

Here's an idea for a NF book. If your into tactics try writing about the tactics used in WWII or Vietnam but from a laymans perspective. Maybe compare and contrast it to current day tactics and show what was learned/changed from previous battles. Again written from a everyman perspective instead of breaking it down as a military exercise (as so many of those books are). Just my two cents.AWB

Writing is something you can either do, or you can't. I've found that if you don't try so hard, and let your thoughts come out, then it works best. Don't try and impress people, just write. Write about your thoughts, your experiences, and the things that happened to you in the past that helped mold you.

I used to be a newspaper reporter in rural Southern West Virginia, and even thought it was stressful, I learned a great deal. You write about people, what they say, and what they did, it teaches you to think like the people in the fiction you may be writing.

I now write reviews for a website called www.themartialist.com . I write about self defense, guns, knives, and survival gear. The publisher and I are co-writing a book about urban survival, bugging out, and bug out bags, that we hope to get Paladin Press to publish in the coming year.

I've also written the first six chapter in my zombie epic. It's a Dawn of The Dead/Land of The Dead sort of survival story, set in post zombie West Virginia. I must say, it's getting good. 8-)

The way I was able to do it, was to write what I know. I know the country here, I know the people. I also know guns, shooting, and similar topics. I put people in the story that are based on real folks (loosely so), and based the story in communities I am aware of.

I know such a story wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, and I may never get it published, but that is ok with me. I just wanted to see if I could do it. I may even start my own website and post the novel, chapter by chapter.

About Brenda, and her attitude toward me, I will tell you, But i really hesitate to do so,as most of you will most likely agree with her, and think I should be in a padded room.

I understand, there are times when I get really, really nervous, I can cough too, not to severe but I do know that feeling. It is when things get really intense though. I remember at one point in my life, I was so on edge and a bundle of nerves, I think I did have an out of body (soon after that happened, a guest on Art Bell on this stuff said that stuff like that could happen during times of high stress) experience while I was sleeping. I remember floating down the hallway into the living room and floating back to the bedroom and seeing my body in bed. I can't really prove anything but that's what I remember. I've also had panic attacks that that time. Sometimes these things manifest themselves differently in different people. No sweat, if anyone thinks negatively and point fingers, I'm sure at some point they will have fingers pointed back at them for something.

Now, as for little Mrs. Princess:: is she perfect? NO!! She has a REAL anexoric problem, and will NOT allow herself, to gain just a bit of weight, to be healthy. She is also a VERY negative person, always seeing the worst side of AYTHING. She ran her husband off, over 6 years ago, and is now sad she did.

They're ya go, I rest my case, your Honor. B-) It seems like she has problems of her own as well, but I would never jump down her throat for it, even if she did that to me, I wouldn't feel right. Maybe it is like "he without sin cast the first stone" or maybe I've experienced it myself so I can never do that to another person even if one is doing it to me. My cousin, she's a couple years younger than me, she's 37 and sees me as being all thumbs while she sees herself as being perfect. Basically, we are like the family version of the "Beverly Hillbillies" to them. B-P

Very cool :) Yes I am writing it that way. Most of my book's content comes from dreams and not actually writing it in sequintial order (I started with chapter three, then wrote two. Now I a working on five and six) and organizing it later.

Guns. That has to be quite a fun topic to review hehe.

Your Zombie epic sounds very cool.

And I thought that I was alone, in that many of my ideas for poems and such(some of which wrote here), have come to me, when I was driving, resting, working, or even in dreams or pre-dreams(that state where you are "almost" asleep, but not quite ).

As a matter of fact, the idea for the novel I wrote, came to me, in a dream, back in 1993. But when I began to put together an idea for it, and told a few people, they made fun of it, and so, I tried to forget it. But I could NOT forget the idea, and just kept working on it in my mind. Finally,. about 6 years ago, after a few encouraging words from a coworker, during idle chat, I began to put it together. I completed it over 2 years ago, and am now rewriting it, into the script format, to enter into the contest.

Sometimes that happens to me too. I had a dream to where I found a long lost experiment the US Government did in 1942 where it was a gate to a parallel Earth. You could drive vehicles through it so I drove a 1965 Ford Galaxie covertible through it and just drove around on the other side to explore. Basically, the world was the same as ours but ten years ahead in technology, but the US was largely the same, the money was the same and so on. I stopped and bought a newspaper and it had an article in it celebrating the 1958 U.S. Moon landing. Other than that, I could have fit in, my car, the money and so on. There is a lot more to the story but it was an interesting dream I had. Should pen it down sometime and develop a story.

Thats true. Space Warfare tactics, strategies, maneuvers and formations. Wonder how that would sell lol. I have brainstormed how it would be done for months lol. In addition to the ground combat stuff.

I do remember seeing a Cold War era cartoon that simulated a US/USSR space war that was made back in the 1950's or so. I rmemeber seeing space fighters, space station and so on, where they would show te space stations tracking enemy ships by radar, launching nukes at them, one on one space combat battles between US and Soviet space fighters and so on. It might have been put out by the Defense Department, I'm not sure. I remember seeing it in one of those Cold War film anthologies but for the life of me, I cannot remember which one or where. It was pretty cool though, sort of like a 1950's/1960's version of "Star Wars" or "Battlestar Galactica."

Hello, just checking in because I told pcottraux that i would tonight, but I am not going to be hanging around long.

When I went to bed last night I checked on my son and he seemed really hot, so I took his temperature and it was 102.8 and he developed a nasty cough. He slept with me last night and neither of us slept well (not that I ever do anyway).

I had a bible study group here all day so I need to clean up my kitchen. I picked him up from a good friend's house a while ago, fed him dinner and he is already out. At least the temperature is down to 101.4, but he still has that cough and when he tells me he wants to go to bed anytime before 10, I know he is not feeling well. So, I will be off tending to my houuse and my little guy. Have a good night everyone.

Sounds rough. Sorry 'bout all that.

I've got to get up real early tomorrow, so I won't be on too long myself.

It looks like Scott quit - and Paul is taking over the Pinginging. If you would like to ping people at 9pm EST - go right ahead. Otherwise, the pinger gets to choose when the pingees are pinged.

;-)
