I am new here and am hoping i can get some help on finding some in depth information on Stand For Children an affiliate of the Childrens Defense Fund. They are starting a local chapter here in my toen in Massachusetts. I have some basic background info on them but was hoping someone might have some more in depth stuff. Like their major supporters or major sources of funding.
If I have this posted in the worng place can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Welcome aboard Mike.
Your in Mass. You can not win. Give it up. Move.
Thanks Victor. That's where i have found what I did. i thought someone might know of a better or alternative source.
Welcome to a fellow Mass. freeper! Never heard of this organization.
I think you suggested the worng search engine...
Mike,
Here's a link to the MA chapter's budget page. This should help, hopefully.

Played an integral role on the campaign to help to "Stop the Repeal" of a critical temporary income tax, protecting funding for Multnomah County schools, senior and disabled services, and public safety.Increased the quality of the Countys public education by convincing the County Commission to pass the first property tax increase since 1999.
Mike what have they told you in your town about this group?
I read the platform and it seems pretty what they are and what kind of people/organizations are affiliated with them.
Welcome to FR.
LOL.....meanie. ;o)
Thanks for all of the help. You folks are fast.
We had an attempt last year to increase our property taxes with an override, which our group defeated handily. It appears the same pro tax folks are re-grouping under the Stands For Children umbrella and I just want to get as much info as I can to discredit them and expose them for what they really are.
My undertsanding is they will be making a conerted effort to expand throughout Mass.
What it relates, in part, about CDF = Childrens Defense Fund:
In 2003, the CDF joined with a number of leftist organizations - including the AFL-CIO, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the National Organization for Women, Al-Awda (the Palestinian Right of Return coalition), and the Not in Our Name project - to protest the war in Iraq and other aspects of American foreign policy.
CDF endorsed the Million Mom March, a May 2000 anti-gun rally in Washington, DC that drew some 750,000 participants and has since evolved into a national organization with the same name. Today Million Mom March is a member group of America Votes, a national coalition of 33 grassroots, get-out-the-vote organizations. America Votes is one of the seven groups forming the administrative core of the Democrat Shadow Party. Its get-out-the-vote efforts - and those of CDF - target likely Democratic voters, such as swing voters (working women and young people) and Democrat base voters (especially blacks and Hispanics). Among the causes America Votes promotes are environmental extremism, unregulated immigration (Open Borders), and the leftwing agendas of the teachers' unions. By contrast, it opposes the Patriot Act and gun ownership rights. The coalition's most pressing objective in 2004 was to defeat George W. Bush in the Presidential election. These are ideals to which CDF similarly subscribes.
