Hiya DC.

What do you mean we were up late again last night?
*innocent look*

It wasn't that late and it was an emergency......

That sounds like about eight or nine hours of flight time. Hopefully, you'll be able to sleep most of it off, and arrive more or less refreshed for the aprés-tea socials.

10 hrs 35 minutes, and that is non stop. Remember I am in Flakey Fornia. Jackie Mason would love your tagline : )

If you can sleep some on the plane, you'll probably be okay through the day arrive, and then go to sleep at your regular time. That's how it was when OldTax-lady and I flew to Europe.

Coming back was harder to adjust.

I don't sleep well on long flights, but I will try.

You got your new noise-cancelling headphones yet?

I know you have something to read.

Interesting... just found out my loser, drunk, drug abuser Uncle is dead. He'd been dead in his apartment a week before anyone actually found the body.

Nick was a lost cause, but I feel sorry for my two cousins.

I say interesting as I had no emotional attachment to him. I hadn't even seen him in almost 30 years. But apparently after him and my Aunt got divorced, he had a fling with an Oriental gal and I may have a teenaged cousin running around that I've never met before. No one knows the mothers name, or even the girls name, just that Nick claimed she exists.

I feel sorry for my Dad though. Apparently, he's taking the news kinda hard. I guess my Uncle wasn't always such a waste of skin. Wish I coulda known him then...

Sorry about your loss, DC, not to death, but to drink and drugs.

We joke about drinking here, but I have confidence that we all understand it is essential; it is civilized, to set limits.

Good luck with your cousins. In Oriental societies, the relationship between cousins is often as strong as it is here between brothers.

I've lost Uncles like that, too. In WWII, they emerged as an unstoppable force, but left to idle, they were unable to gain traction, and their engines raced to destruction.

Take a "Sleepy Time" tea bag with you. Ask for hot water and make the tea. Drink the tea @ 8 hrs before you need to wake up. That stuff works like a charm. Ought to be FDA regulated, it zonks you out so fast.

We're a small family, and not very closely knit. Despite efforts at trying.

Can't morn the loss of what you never had.

Oh well... I just hope none of my cousins from him follow his lead. We've got one of 'em we are worried about. The kids made some really bad decisions.

Time will tell...

Primus' procedure went off without a hitch. He's sore and groggy (he's sleeping right now) and we have the drugs to keep him from feeling too much pain.

I'm just groggy and no one has even offered me drugs, let alone actually procured them. Nobody loves me. *sniff, sniff*

I'm not sure how long I'm going to post for; I'm sorely afflicted with the dreaded typo virus right about now. I've nearly worn off the decal on the "backspace" key.

What's going on with all of you?
