My Take on Plamegate (I hope I am right)
26 October 2005 | Perdogg

As I have stated before, I believe the evidence is to weak to go after Rove or Libby. There is no evidence that they violated IIPA or Section 793; Section 1683 is a tough road to hoe; anything less would be pardoned on Christmas Eve 2008. Stating that I do not believe thye will be indicted.

We know that Ashcroft appointed Fitzgerald in December 2003 to take over the investigation. Why?

I thought at the time, it was done so to avoid a conflict of interest since Bush was running for re-election. But apparently it done because Ashcroft felt the issue was serious enough to do so. The White House could not investigate the CIA.

My feeling on this is that targets of this investigation are the following:

The thing you have in your favor with this theory is that I hardly think that it would take 2 years to determine if Plame was covert or not and if that in fact is what is being investigated should have been determined first. Now I guess it is possible that if it was determined she was covert the investigation could drag out waiting for Miller to testify. If it was determined she was not Covert then 2 years is way too much time to be trying to set someone up for OoJ or perjury. So it is my opinion that either it has been determined by Fitzgerald that she was Covert or he is investigating something more involved and your theory certainly in that case makes sense. I think it is more likely that the CIA being the 2 faced deceitful leftist organization it has become has created paper saying she was covert and shredded any info to contrary. So I expect Fitxgerald to fall in line with his other other Democrat pals. If he doesn't then he really may the man everybody says he is.

This isn't about leaking. It's about lying. When Joe wrote his article, he figured no one would bother with Valerie. She worked at the CIA. No big deal. Washington is that way!!

But someone found the "wife" connection between Joe's trip...not this one, the one he took during the Clinton administration in 1999. It was a guess on Novak's part. But when Joe told Novak "Leave my wife out of this", Novak knew. And when Novak used the word "operative", he meant Dem operative. He was quite right!!

Who buzzed the CIA & Valerie....and said..."We have a job for Joe. Make sure it happens". Fits the "Treasonous" Dem Memo to a "T".

If she was really covert, Joe would have never been able to publish his July 6th column. Until that time, JOE had remained anonymous as the person who went to Niger AND there was no "documentation" of his trip.....No "Confidentiality Disclosure", No "written report". Speaks volumes.

If Joe did not contact the CIA and get permission to write that editorial, then Joe has to take the ultimate responsibility for outing his wife. To say to the world....(After the fact) "Because of the nature of my writing, you are not allowed to connect any dots" is absurd.

The Dem Party, who "instructed" Joe to write his July 6th article sure isn't going to stick their necks out for him. In fact, they wound up firing him from Kerry's campaign. Speaks volumes.

"So it is my opinion that either it has been determined by Fitzgerald that she was Covert"

Archon, you should already know that this possibility simply does not exist in the world of FR.

Most everyone here already knows all the facts relating to her CIA status, and even raising the possibility that their assumptions (whoops - I meant to say undisputed facts established with Biblical certainty) are not correct automatically makes you a troll or worse.

But your thinking is properly inclined, IMO, as to explain why it has taken so long. One of your possibilities is conceivable, one is simply not. I know, as far as my own opinions, which is which.

Did you notice that after the White House was occupied by republicans and all the records became open to them, not one person was interested enough to find out how Livingston was hired?

The word is that there will be no word forthcoming today from the special prosecutor. So, will it be tomorrow...a Friday afternoon non-event?

Also, who gave Judith Miller this "clearance" she is boasting about? And why? And is it another of Judith's big fat lies? Who is she really working for?

Inquiring minds want to know.

It appears that the CIA under Tenet, attempted to subvert the Government of the United States by manufacturing intelligence and submitting it to the Executive Branch of the United States government.

And this manufactured intelligence, was....?

Don't forget that Wilson's office is in the same office as Alamoudi, the terrorist fundraiser that is in prison.

I wonder if Fitzgerald was the one who put Alamoudi in prison.

Why and who sent was Joe Wilson to Niger?

Do I need a decoder ring to make sense of this line?

Maybe but the deeper part of this that runs through the CIA stinks to high heaven. No way this wasn't at some point an orchestrated effort on the part of operatives. Just too many legitimate questions surrounding Wilson and his trip, his statement of a forged document a month before it was in possession of the WH. You have mock impeachment trials that clairvoyance just doesn't explain. Fitzgerald may indeed be only pursuing the "possible" leak but he would be missing the bigger cancer. I guess we shall see tomorrow if this is legitimate or just BS.

Wouldn't it be something if indictments of WH aides brings about an investigation that burns Wilson and the rest of the I smoked dope and tried to set up a President crowd.....Just a thought
