Has anybody else been, like, totally creeped-out by the recent Burger King ad series?
I mean, like, there's this guy waking up and standing silently next to him is as scary a sight as one is likely to encounter: a hulking Burger King with a frozen face, mouth open (to take a big bite?), staring silently at the poor guy. Ewww!
It's just one of a series of totally bizarre ads all featuring the sudden appearance of the Burger King right in, like, someone's face, like, out of nowhere.
I guess the idea is that when you are, like, hungry, you'll think of grabbing a burger from BK. But really, man. Who thought this series up? I mean, like, if I woke up and saw this thing standing next to my bed, my only throught would be to get my .357 out as fast as I could and, like, blow this ugly mofo back to the Ring of Hell from which it emerged.
Maybe these ads will spur gun sales. That would be way cool!
I thought it just symbolized the truth that they serve dog food on tortillas.
I like that!
(signed up in 2000 to post that, didya?)
As my mom would say, "That man can put his shoes under my bed any time."
Pity I'm almost old enough to be his mom.
And that King dude, he needs a face transplant from CB!
"Advertising is supposed to create a association between the product and something pleasurable. BK is, like, way creepy."
Yet here are 70ish people on a political forum discussing what?
Buger King!
Commercials, even odd ones, work.
Need a cold shower?
LOL!
I'll take the King over that obnoxious McDonald office dweeb who goes off when folks walk past his Chicken Selects.
This guy has been creepin' me since the first time I saw him. He's just a very unnattractive character!
I don't understand the 'chicken fries' fascination. It's just chicken tenders shaped like fries and softer! What's the difference?!
They've definitely made a memorable association with this one, just not a pleasurable one.
LMAO
Doogle
The always say "no" commericals. I detest those. I don't know if it's the commerical, or David Spade. And I'm seeing teh chubby guy everywhere in commericals.
I really hate the Vitara commerical with the guy who leaves for work by parachuting off of a cliff and then jumps in his new Vitara. It has an annoying song too. I hate that one.
Those first commercials with the guy in bed and the king popping up creeped me out too, but I would eat at Burger King for a year if they parodied their own commercials by having people start beating the crap out of the Burger King. They can develop this whole series of commercials based on the Burger King stalking people, intruding in their homes, w/ scary music and the like, cat and mouse games in the dark and pop up scares, where the Burger King, like Jason Voorhies, won't stop until you've eaten some of his chicken fries.
Yikes...and that bunny would get it right between the eyes! :)
Erm,
ah,
hmmmmm,
A king in my queen sized bed?
no.
