NORTH BELLMORE, Long Island There was another home invasion on Long Island. This time a North Bellmore, Long Island man who was about to step into the shower heard his front door open downstairs. Bart Salamone says he opened the bathroom door a crack and saw a stranger walking around. Salamone says he called 9-1-1 from a cordless phone in the bathroom -- but the intruder apparently heard him and kicked in the bathroom door.

Salamone says he and the intruder struggled, and the thug was able to run out.

Salamone says about an hour later after as he was on his way to work, a car pulled alongside of him. The car had three men - one with a gun - and they warned him to not say a word about the break-in.

I'm not really amused with the media's 'Naked Man' headline here.

Furthermore, was it really necessary to publish his name?

You oil up yours...I am giving more treats to my Pit Bull.

It really is a shame that 'criminal flesh' doesn't have a unique smell and taste...if your Pit Bull gets my drift...

Vermin they are. However, one must ask, did the man NEED to inform the press and police that he was naked?

Certain things that occur in one's home don't need to be repeated if they aren't relevant to an investigation.

One wonders if this individual might also have informed the media and police that he was masterbating at the time of the invasion...

>>>The gun is at your command. Dogs can do their own thing.

It is not easy to become a gun owner in a blue state.

I was playing with the idea of becoming a gun owner. So I had a friend, former Navy, take my son to a shooting range last year.

They got slapped with a $200 ticket from the township for violating the noise ordinance.

I can't offered $200 per gun range visit to introduce my children to gun safety.

That is on the police report. The AP obtained a copy and that is how they got the sketch of the perp.

I just looked at the video of the interview with Mr. Salamone on News12 LI's site. http://www.news12.com/LI/topstories/article?id=162735#
There have been a lot more than 18 of these things. Makes the story clearer, but it's too close to home.

I understand completely. I have gang safe houses in my neighborhood too.

There was a hostage (hoax) incident in New Brunswick not too long ago. thread here. The gangs were out in such mass, we had police from at least five other towns in New Brunswick to help with crowd control. Bringing my dog with me was the ONLY way I was able to get through to pick up my kids from school.

I am very tempted to give my doggy some more treats. But DLR warned me of slowing her down with snacks.
