I haven't written since summer 2004. I used to write fiction in my college creative writing class. That was fun stuff.

I remember telling someone here about my fiction, but I don't know if it was you.
My pinnacle short story was called "Aufsagen Wiederholt." Loosely translated, that's "Repititions Recalled" or "To Repeat Repeatedly." The concept: in the year 2,344, people who tell lame jokes and repeat themselves often have been arrested, labeled enemies of the state, and deported to an island where a seperate society has been built for them.
I had another one called "The Perpetual Liar." In that one, we have two narrators telling their versions of the events. The first is a grocery store employee who was recently fired. The second is the manager who fired him. Each one's account is completely outlandish and overblown, making that narrator sound like an innocent and righteous do-gooder and the other character the evil, twisted villain.
This was out of the class, but I later wrote a small one called "Oliver Mitchellson Has a Dream," about a man who really, sincerely aspires to be an Oscar Mayer Wiener. He is so determined to find a way to transform himself into a hot dog, it becomes his destructive obsession, alienating his family and destroying his home life.
Of course, there are far more complex details to those stories, but that's the basic idea behind each one.

Back in the 60's I would watch my father get into political discussions at our house during social gatherings my parents would throw. My parents, who were very conservative, would use logic when arguing points against their liberal friends. These liberals would start ranting and raving and try name calling when they started losing arguments. That told me alot right then and there.
I have been a conservative as long as I have lived, and those tired emotional arguments continue to come up over and over again when I battle my liberal friends.
Some things just don't change.
Welcome to the conservative side. ;)

Are you a troll, or not?

Democrats are liars, deceiving. . . . Yes, they are. Sometimes they even lie and deceive their way onto this board.
Don't you agree?

The fire burned out today! Oh, I think the fire might be just beginning. . . .
To: lionel _huts1
I grew up in a community where almost everyone was Democrat.
My conversion was easy--it was a village full of idiots. :-)

INCOMING!
To: Charles Henrickson
INCOMING! I would think so. Who changes party because of emotions but has no change of views first? Liberal trolls.
It will take some time for me to adjust and to rethink a lot of my positions on social issues, but I think we all know how theyll change.
