After Roberts, I am willing to give President Bush a pass on this one. Not the next one.(assuming at least one more nomination) I do reserve the right to continue p*ssing and moaning about lack of leadership on border issues and other stuff. :)

Great post, P Dog! I agree with you. Pragmatism and victory come first.
Don't let this be your last vanity, though. You have written some fine ones, lately.

Let us stay the course, and stay on the side of President Bush. He is not a perfect man, but he is our man. In war, sometimes that just has to be enough
I trust him

This is Pukin Dog's last vanity post. Yeah, right. Good grief, your every fleeting whim is NOT news and is NOT deserving of its own thread.

I'll stand with President George W Bush til the end. Most of his critics aren't worth having in a fight anyway. Puchannan, Kristol, Frump, good riddence! BTW good posts are hard to come by, so don't let the critics bother you.

This is Pukin Dog's last vanity post. I sure hope not. You never cease to enlighten, excite, or amuse me. Troops like yourself are few and far between, and I for one would miss your rants. They usually say what I can not due to my lack of writing ability.
If necessary, I'll pay the bets that you will not be ranting again.

First of all, why is it your last vanity?
Second, you are completely correct, if we don't stand with the President when he messes up, we are not friends of conservatism, because the only alternative is to cede ground to the left.
Sadly, I sense a lot of resignation in this post and I'm sorry to hear it. The war over the Miers nomination gives me the same sense of being let down I had when the Protest Warriors got booted out of the Pro-Troops rally in Crawford. I am extremely disappointed in many of my fellow conservatives and their seeming inability to think first, react later.
Being the optimist I am, I can't help but believe brighter days, even for this administration, are ahead. It's just the long hard slog between here and there that is dragging us down.
Finally, please don't give up on the vanities. I really do appreciate them. So just stop it...vanity when you feel like it and don't when you don't. Its not fair to your defenders. ; )

Is this the last vanity post until the next, last vanity post? Or is it really the last vanity post?
Hard to beleive you ran out of vanity with this post.

Conservative senators are the senators annoyed by this pick. How can you blame folks like Specter or Chafee or Collins or Snowe? Reid LOVES Miers.
Face it, in Miers, you are going to war to support other idiocies like the Education Reform bill, CFR, etc. that Bush has done while in office. He isn't a conservative-- hell, just ask him (he's a compassionate conservative)!
He chose Miers because he wanted to-- just like all the other things he's done.
PD, have some balls and fight for the right decisions that are made and don't coddle Bush when he makes stupid ones. Bush is not Pope!
