they're just covering it on the news now; they're saying we're going to get lake effect snows, very heavy by Friday a.m., and it will be going toward Albany, missing NYC.
Lucky you!!!

"...she's been struggling in that class and studied her rearend off for that test." I feel for her. I hated chemistry. That was my worst class in college. Didn't help that I had a professor who thought everyone was a chemistry major. I was still maintaining a B average, and then my grandma passed away and I had to take an incomplete near the end of the term and didn't take the final. I had to make it up later and didn't do so well. I just couldn't get back into it 10 weeks later when I took it, so I didn't really study. Blew my final GPA down to Magna cum laude.

11-24-05-- Family gathering for Thanksgiving, just before we sat down to eat, my husband snapped a picture of our daughter and his mother getting ready for dinner. We did not look at the pictures for a few days but were shocked by what we saw in this one. Maybe a family member from the other side visiting?

That little girl looks like she sees it!

Didn't help that I had a professor who thought everyone was a chemistry major. Must be the same teacher! She said her A has brought her class grade avg up to about a C now....she really hasn't been doing very well in that class. Last test to go is her final, in a couple weeks. I remember trying to take chemistry in high school, but dropped out, as I understood nothing; while in college taking biology, there was a week or two of chemistry thrown in...and it was the same thing....I had a hard time understanding it. Glad that was the end of my chemistry course work!
To: nicmarlo
I could understand chemistry when it was presented well. I didn't have any problems with it in biology, physiological psychology or psychopharmacology. It's just that I had a professor who taught with the assumption that his students already knew most of this stuff and if you asked him to explain something, he would just repeat it the way you didn't understand it the first time. The only wauy I maintained a B average was by spending way more time studying than I should've had to so that I could figure it out for myself.

That sex perp I've been ranting about for months on end is WAS scheduled for trial tomorrow. I have been informed that this is to be yet another supression hearing. Apparently when he was talking about pleading the case he was only willing to plead guilty if he wouldn't get any prison time. So now the worthless prosecutor's office is claiming that the further delay is because we haven't made the child in question available. HUH??? They ask a couple of days ahead of the trial to interview a child that they know is 2 1/2 hours away and in a very fragile emotional state. They know that arrangements need to be made to have her brought here by her therapist. They know that in the event that she might have to testify that it will take a lot of time to prepare her for it. We have maintained contact with these people (way more than they would like) throughout and now somehow it is OUR fault that THEIR job isn't done??? It is like they're looking for a reason to drop this case. If you could read this guy's confession, it would make you sick, but not as sick as seeing that he was getting excited recalling it. It almost seems as if the prosecutor is batting for the other team.

My college biology teacher was a joke. It was his first semester EVER teaching. He looked like a hippy, and smelled like one, too. He was the worst teacher I ever had at college. He'd forget his notes, he'd be difficult to understand any complete thought he attempted to "teach." The only way I passed the tests was to study only from the book for hours, as the notes taken during class were useless....it was almost as if the material covered in class and the tests were from different subjects. I only ended up with an A in the class because I stopped studying at all from my notes, bought an additional biology book and taught myself the subject matter.

It almost seems as if the prosecutor is batting for the other team. That's disgusting. I was watching a program the other day, don't remember which one, but they were saying how many prosecutors do not like these kinds of cases, as oftentimes, of course, it's the word of a child against an adult. But I think there's more to it than that simple explanation.
To: nicmarlo
Thankfully, I had excellent teachers for my biology and other science based classes. I still had to work my butt off to pull A's in thier classes, but that was because they were very thorough.

This little girl is terrified of men, which speaks volumes on its own. I even requested that she be interviewed by the female attorney with the prosecutor's office. No go. The buffoon is determined to do it himself. It is very likely that she will clam up and not talk at all. Her story has been consistent throughout, but she has to feel comfortable to talk about it. And we won't even talk about the @$$hole who is representing him. This is the guy who wants to kill "someone" at our office. He would be merciless to this girl. The only salvation there might be that it wouldn't play well with a jury. Of course, I've never actually heard of a jury trial in this town, so I honestly don't believe it will come to that. Virtually every case that goes to court is pled. I don't know that these guys actually know how to try a case.

And sound like that creep's going to be roaming the streets hurting other little girls without any fear of punishment....as long as he makes sure his victims continue to be little. : (
