See you soon . . . ;-)
Thanks for stopping around Hope. Enjoy Boxing Day.
OK, but who do you box, what weightclass, what time?
The "Well- to-do" boxed up leftovers for "The Poor." On the day after Christmas . . . It's an English thing . . . ;-)
LOL, well you would be heavyweight.
Hi!! *GRINS*
Oh is that what it is?? Leftover food?? Really??
Boxing Day
The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.
Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year.
Ah, thank you. I know Canada celebrates Boxing Day.
Yes . . . all of the Commonwealth Countries do . . .a "leftover" from their British Heritage . . . ;-)
*HUGS*
How you doing, sweet pea??
Surviving . . . today was "Collapse" day . . . so I did . . . LOL!!!
I did the cocooning thing yesterday and today! LOL
Think I am coming down with a cold. Rats.
Good night everyone . . . see you tomorrow.
THE MAGIC TREE My daughter has a magic tree It grows in a pot on her lanai One day a few months ago It had little white blossoms all over But they disappeared in a few days Now it has a dozen oranges Just hanging there like Christmas ornaments I'm going to keep an eye on that tree No telling what it will do next I'm hoping for pineapples or Asian pears
Aloha to you hawk.
The Magic Tree
LOL I love it. Neat poem.
Today is Tuesday, Dec. 27, the 361st day of 2005 with four to
follow. The moon is waning. The morning stars are Mercury,
Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. The evening stars are Venus, Mars,
Uranus and Neptune.
Christmas continues...
I see thee, little child in your mother's lap.
In you the impossible has come to be,
Creator enters creation and takes a nap
As mother you did make sings lullaby to thee.
(I wrote that as an exercise in writing a 4 line stanza, but it wants to be longer. Something to work on later!)
Oh structured poetry. Yikes. I am a rebel. Free Verse for me.
Bravo for you to do this. I just loose it when I try.
