The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Winmag, I notice my last post to you seemed a little argumentative. I apologize for that, hadn't meant it to be that way, was just thinking out loud.

Argumentative? I was trying to be cute. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I'll remember the emoticons the next time. I may sometimes phrase things clumsily, but I have no reason to ever hassle friends.

Yeah, I don't understand that myself... as long as you're not, you know, spending the mortgage payment on the cool gun, a cool gun is reason in itself.

Well... within reason... arsenal is fine, arsenal you have to build a seperate house for would be silly.

That's a deal!

I really wish I could have made it to ShootMoot.

I don't think anyone will be bringing their guns to RockyMoot. It's a hassle at the airport.

Well if there is a place to shoot near the next moot... it is not THAT much of a hassle.

Did we finally decide on the RockyMoot locale?

Is it going to be Wolf Run?

Or are we still looking?

Er... Not sure. I had sort of mentally shelved the idea as I watched to see if any other sort of reasons I need to burn a week of vacation in that time frame suddenly appear for some reason or other... Other kinds of 'moots' or something like that...

Talked to David, our #2 son last night. He's thinking he might want to come home for Thanksgiving after all. His high school class is having their 5 year reunion, and he's decided he might want to go. Fortunately, he wouldn't have to be here for Thursday morning; he could fly in that day, and he wouldn't have to be back to school til Monday afternoon, but I'm not sure he's gonna find a flight. He and I are both looking, though, so maybe it'll work. I'd love to have him come home!

Can all the Freeper Support the Troop people please pass this message on to their ping and email lists? We want to generate as many hits as we can for this website.

Please stop by this website and send a message of support to our troops in Iraq by signing this site's Guest Book. This site has been hacked by the Scumbag Left. It would be good to let them know what the sane Americans think about this behavior by the Political Left.

Incidentally if certain other kinds of moots should occur, bringing guns might not be the most er, appropriate thing to do.

I just called him after checking out Orbitz and found one flight that was $400. He just kinda choked. ;o) He's thought about it some more, though and realized he just couldn't afford the three days off that would be involved. He has several projects due, and only three weeks to finish before the semester ends. He's really feeling the pressure to do well; JenB knows of what I speak. He may just decide otherwise, though, and check out Hotwire or Priceline at the last minute. All he has to do is call us, and we'll be where he lands to pick him up. ;o)

Thankfully, he has some friends from the Grad school in Austin who will all be spending Thanksgiving together, so he won't be alone, if he decides to stay. He had originally called last night asking about some vegetarian side dish options to bring to the dinner, so that anyone there could eat it.

He'll be home in three weeks, anyway, for his Christmas break. He'll be here almost a month, then! WooHoo!

Oh! In that case, he may be better off saving his money until then!

Haven't we covered this already?

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

$400 is pretty good!

I waited 'til the end of October and I had to take a return flight on Monday to avoid paying over $600 and still (kinda) fit my schedule.
