Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I won't give spoilers. :P
Just one of their more "adult" moments, shall we say?
It caught me by surprise.

Hey!1 If Graybeard wins, HE can buy the property for the Hobbit Hole Compound and employ all of us as 'caretakers' with six figure incomes! ;o)

Ack! I've checked, and I ~don't~ get comedy central here at l'otel. I guess I'll have to wait for the replay Saturday night.
They don't have a streaming function at CC do they? Hmm...

Not that I know of, Ramius. :-(
*stretch* Past eleven here, folks. I'm off to bed.
Too tired to even finish off the laundry. :P

Not in real time, they don't.
Want us to tape it? They usually play it again on one of the weekend nights.

I should be able to get it from my usual sources in the next day or so. If I get it in time, I'll burn it to CDR and try to get Hair to drop it off at the beach house for you when she's in the neighborhood on Fri.

It's already out on bittorrent, FYI. I'm trying to get tonight's Lost... I see the South Park at the same place.

I've never tried this bittorrent thing... I'll have to look into it. I usually get stuff off the usenet groups.

D'oh... I s'pose it is. I kinda just quit doing P2P after Gnutella and Gnucleus. I'm the one that frowns on such things when done from da office... have been shutting down ports and protocols for P2P for so long I've neglected to keep up on it for myself. :-)

Maybe I'll have to check on that from da main office tomorrow. There is a certain sweetness in doing downloads over a T3. :-0

I like bittorrent. It's easy to use and everything I want is out on it fast. A popular hour-long program usually takes three or so hours to download. Faster when more people are downloading. 100 people downloading, it takes forever. 10,000 downloaders, it takes an hour.

It is... 10Mbps burstable to 45Mbps. Schwweeeet.
Also load-balanced with a backup 10Mbps microwave... and a couple of T1's. All different providers and all to different bay area NOCs.
I dig... bandwidth... and redundancy... :-)
The sick thing is there's only about 200 people in this (the HQ) office. They're spoiled stinking rotten, they are...

Niiice....
though all the bandwidth in the world doesn't help much when the site you're connecting to is slower than heck
