Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good morning!
Off to work. Three day work week this week...which is usually a good thing, but since I only get PAID for a three day work week, it's not quite as exciting. Still...it's a paycheck, and I only get one more after this week, so I'm grateful.
I've only found one job to apply for so far - it's a computer support position at a Christian publishing house in Loveland. That could be a GREAT job, or it could be a miserable one, depending on what exactly the work environment is like. We'll see if I hear back. It's the only job I've seen - others seem to be waiting 'til after the holidays to do any hiring.
Also plan to apply again at the bookstore in the next day or two, and maybe some other places. Some don't like folks to reapply and reapply, I guess.
Gotta run!

Good morning!
The day's just started and I'm already exhausted. LOL!
Lots of running around this morning and I've got 25 payrolls scheduled for today. I do expect several more to "appear" before the day is done. :-P
See ya when I see ya!

Mornin!
Happy to be into the short week but feeling kinda lousy. And I got a bum rib from a shot I took in karate last week :P
Plus I am way behind on Nano. I might have to bring out the ninjas, cheat with voice recognition software, start writing stuff even I will admit is crap, or concede defeat. ug

I know the feeling.
I'm still hovering around 13k.
Part of it is the kids constant distraction, but the other part is my fault. Every time I get a spare minute, I dive back into FOTR instead of typing another paragraph in NaNo.
Heh...FWIW, they've just left Lothlorien.

Grumble, grumble, grumble...where's muh coffee? Is it Tuesday yet?
Didn't get all my werdz in yesterday...oh well. At least the aloes are in. I'll have to see how much speed writing I can do on the plane over the holidays. The only problem is it will be handwritten and I'll have to type it all in at some point. Oh well...I can type faster than I can write.

Neener yourself, so did I. It was good, made such a better movie than a book.

Nano stalled my reread of LOTR just after confrontation in Isenguard. Have been to tired to crack it open before bed in weeks.
To: Lil'freeper
Goood morning everyone! It has to be a good day when you see an inspirational cartoon like this. I know this will give several people here some very creative ideas.
To: Pippin
No time to cook this morning!
Grab a Toaster Streudel from the freezer! LOL!

I like it. Good reliable action, that. Composite or other such stock is a good call for damp and saltwater. Makes me wonder about a stainless variant? Not sure if that'd be worthwhile or not.
I'm thinking lots of magazines. Odds of needing it are not high, but if you need it... you need it really bad. :-)
