Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It seems to be telling the story of the Tailenders, from the crash onward...

It's for a recipe, not for eating.

Ok, the world is getting scoured. Heros have survived by the skin of their teeth and I'm calling it a day.
To: JenB
Well you're going to eat the recipe, aren't you?

I'm really disappointed. Tried to pick a fight with Murrymom today... and she wimped out.
Go figure.

Eat the recipe? How paper-y?
Sheesh, after I finally go bug a neighbor for the maintenance number and call them, New Upstairs Guy shows and turns off his stinkin' alarm thingie.

Most of Christmas is going to be from internet shopping. :PI started a couple of weeks ago. Ordered Bose Noise Cancelling headphones for SirKit. Also got some CDs from the Musical Heritage Society; mostly Christmas music for SirKit, myself, and the new priests at our Parish. Yesterday I got some great deals on kitchen knives and knife blocks for Paul and David. I ordered a Santoku knife for each of them and one for me. ;o) I also got David a Rice Cooker with a non-stick pan.
I don't mind going to the Mall for a few things, but most of what we like, I either can't get there, or can get better prices online. Haven't gotten Wish lists from Clare, Paul and Joseph yet.
I also plan to get the gifts for the nieces' and nephews' stockings out in the mail early in the week after Thanksgiving. My family's party is on Dec. 10th, and I'm always having to pay through the nose cause I always wait until the week of the party to send stuff. I bought gifts in the Spring, so I have them, but I also wanted to make some chocolate Christmas Pops to send with them. I can do that over Thanksgiving weekend, and they'll be ready to go!

It was good!
She got there before I did and was waiting outside the front door when I drove up. She already had the table there. Talked mostly about the Nano thing and Ninja Llamas from Beyond. Talked about vet stuff....how stupid sheep are, cats, fleas, and fipronil, the shape of llama feet and if they could actually grip anything. Did some public skool/liberal bashing...talked some more about llamas...stoopid firewalls, javascript, and webmail. The nature of Ninja.....about llama ninja societies....
It was pretty fun! Hope none of the other rastaurant patrons were listening too closely or they probably thought we were nuts!
