Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I plead the Fifth on how much housework isn't done right now. I also started writing at 0700 this morning.
To: JenB
It also goes without saying that my novel is ranking high on the "crappy novel" meter. I mean, it's really, really, really bad.
To: Lil'freeper
Mine's really, really bad too...
I just reorganized and cleaned all the cabinets in the kitchen. Still need to try to do something about the utensil drawer.

I'm still going with the "wait 'til they all fall" strategy.

Good strategery. Since the shingle oak doesn't lose them till spring, looks like we can lose the rake again. :-)

I just reorganized and cleaned all the cabinets in the kitchen. Er, there's your problem! Seriously, I need to make my 50K well before Thanksgiving so I can clean! clean! clean! in time. The family is descending on my place for the holidays.
To: osagebowman
Hehehehe....
My yard isn't as leaf-covered as some of the neighbors'...

This test has been on Quizilla for about two years, but I just saw it today. The results are only for the Free People of Middle Earth. Haven't found a test for orcs, trolls, nazgul, etc.
BTW, I watched all three LOTR EEs at work, listening to the actors' comments. The stuntman who played the Witch King kept referring to the flying creatures as "nazgul". I had to scream at him, "you're a nazgul, the flying thing is a fell beast!"

To which race of Middle Earth do you belong?

Finally!
In the moon-lit prairie night, Freddie took one last tortured breath and died.

Dontcha hate doing business travel on the weekends?
it tops my list of peeves.
To: Lil'freeper
Yah. I'm thinking about taking the next couple of days off to decompress.

Yep...the Nazgul thing bothered us, too. I watched that with my siblings, and we were all yelling at the guy. ;-)
