The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

That's true... but don't underestimate them when beans are inflicted on them against their will :~D

I just found some Milk Chocolate-Caramel Chips at the grocery store. I had some brownie mix, so I mixed it up, tossed in 1/2 of the chips and some chopped pecans. Then I put the other half of the chips on top with another 1/2 cup of pecans, and I'm fixin to bake some Turtle Brownies!

Love those sleepy eyed kitty pictures. Clare liked that one with Pippin and the toy kitty. She once gave her friend, Erin, a little Beanie Baby kitty for her new Siamese kitten. Yuki just loved that toy, which at the time, was bigger than she. As she grew, she'd drag that toy all over the house with her. She'd even bring it to the bowl when she was eating and sit it right next to her!

The dogs pick up that beanie tiger toy and just shake it... it makes me want to be pretty careful they know not to grab the real ones!

My cat, Ben did that with an Easter Bunny I had. He was drag the bunny around, play with it, and even sleep with it. We finally had to throw it away when its stuffing started coming out of the worn and threadbare "fur".

Kitties are funny creatures. Bittygirl just stood there and squealed (loudly) and chattered away at each of Hair's kitty pics. She absolutely loves stuffed kitties and rabbits. She also really likes real kitties too. It's funny to watch her with Ben. She pets him, and loves on him, and he sits there and takes it. He is such a trooper.

Have you seen the Swirl Chips? I think they're milk and white chocolate.

Yum!
