Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Right...and my understanding *at this point* is that it just requires him to take more hours.
Which he can get done in one semester, but it sure is frustrating because he could've got it done THIS semester...

I can't recall where I heard they were popular with homeless whino's."Whinos" are just another name for democRATS. "Winos" are just bums who buy cheap booze. "Winos" are a distinctly better class of people than "whinos".

You know, before he was two, he would eat risotto, green beans, carrots, anything. Anything I put in front of him he ate. I have pictures.
He tried nachos the other day and claimed they were sour... Sour? Not the word I'd have chosen.
KarateBoy will not eat a corn dog, though he will eat a hot dog, maybe. I am just stoked that he ~likes~ mac-n-cheese. Now, I need to get him to try pudding, but I am not going to force it. He will eat grilled cheese, fish sticks, chicken, and now he will grudgingly eat his green beans (he adds a ton of salt to them - ick!) and mashed taters.
You are right about it being a texture thing. For the longest time, it had to be beige, and dry. He still refuses jelly on toast or on his p-butter sandwiches. It was a major undertaking, but now he will eat pizza every once in a while. He still doesn't like freedom fries. It doesn't follow his pattern, so I am not sure I understand why he won't eat them.

Whereas I guess a 'whino' has an endless supply.

I don't know how kids actually grow up. So many of them ~never~ eat a full meal. :~D
Well, I won't be around much to chat today, I've got a meeting in town, and then I have to go up to our beach house to vote... I'm still registered up there, haven't got around to moving it.

Well, no, but they're little so what they do eat is enough... I guess... I have memories of a few "sit at the table until you eat that" meals. Ugh. On the other hand, with seven of us Mom couldn't exactly plan meals around what everyone wouldn't eat.

I don't remember ever getting to not eat something because I did not like it. Not cleaning almost all of your plate meant you got to to see that plate of food reheated at your next meal. Still did not like it? Oh well, there is always tomorrow. I suppose mom might have taken what we would stomach into account. But I doubt it because I never had the impression I could get away with not eating anything. The only exception was meals like thanks giving where we did not have to try more than a bite of various things (provided we had enough greens and stuffing). If mom and dad were picky about any food, they never said a word about it when we were growing it.
To: TalonDJ
Heh, I've realized that the reason why Mom always ate whatever dinner was, was because she planned it and so never cooked the few things she really didn't like. Seems a bit like cheating now...

cheating? Nah just setting a good example. It is funny how much of that 'example' stuff involved a little light deception.
To: TalonDJ
Hehehe... always knew my parents were smarter than I thought... er, wait...
Gah, class time. I don't want to go, it's getting to that time in the semester where it's a chore just to get there on time.

Seems a bit like cheating now... Nope! That's cook's privilege! We were always encouraged to prepare our own food if we didn't like the menu.

In other news, Guido the badger has just finished explaining to Bob why it doesn't work to import heroes (for the Dark Lord to fight) from other worlds, and Bob is FINALLY on the last leg of his journey to the castle.
Hey, it only took me a week to get him there. I write in real time, just about. *sigh*

To: TalonDJ
Not nearly as much!
But I'll be glad when the next batch of new systems gets in and we can go back to days.
