ROFLOL!!! That's GREAT!
Number 4 should read "Have Al Gore do that for you."
Ok, here's what I've been doing.
You 'member that burger was on sale a while back...90% lean ground round for $1.89 per pound? And I bought thirty pounds? Well, we had four pounds left (we eat a lot of burger obviously) and just in the nick of time they put the sale back on except this time it's 93% lean ground beef (not round, but that's ok), on sale for $1.79 per pound!
So I bought another 20 pounds. I divided it up into 1 pound balls and stuffed them into bread bags with a twist tie between each ball...so I have like a string of hamburger pounds and all I have to do is open the top of the bread bag and grab the top ball.
Now bread bags aren't too air tight, but the butcher bags are...you know the bags you slip your meat purchase in so it won't leak in your car? They're really heavy-duty and non-porous. So after I put the meat in the bread bags, I stuff them into a butcher bag! (I make sure I get plenty...wouldn't want anything leaking in my floor board, dontcha know). Finally, they get put in the deep freeze.
Now, Albertson's has their chicken tenders on sale for $1.88 a pound. So I bought 20 pounds of it, too. I washed them well, then layered them on the cookie sheet with plastic grocery sacks cut to fit then layered between them. I put them in the deep freeze. In about an hour, they'll be slightly frozen and I can break them apart into some more butcher bags, seal them up and voila! I'll have individual chicken tenders I can fetch out for the George Foreman grill or the microwave!
*Taking notes*
They ARE fun to drive, aren't they! When I was in the market for a new car earlier this year, it was a three-way tie with the VUE, the Relay, and the Ford Escape. When I looked at the options and the numbers, the Relay was a much better deal than the VUE, and the VUE was a better deal than the Escape.
I never thought I would drive a minivan, but I sure do enjoy driving the Relay.
Hi there! Was wondering how you were doing just the other day!
I'm having a cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee; wanna join me?
Heh, I saw a Dad at "the Ave Maria Open House weekend with a t-shirt that read Mini Van, Mega Fun". The two words were separated on the shirt by a picture of an 80's Dodge Caravan.
Mmmm! Sounds lovely! And since the house is steeped in pumpkin pie smell, it will almost seem like real!
Meat is our biggest expense. I try really hard to get meat at less than $2 a pound...and I never just go to the store, I go only when I'm in the area for some other reason. Like coming home from church or coming home from something one of the boys is doing. So the price of gas doesn't add anything.
And I try to keep it stored in recycled things...like the bread bags. Buying storage bags (ziploc) just adds to the price of the meat and it's pointless when I have things I can utilize then throw out for free!
Like the inventor of the internet:

Note also, the selector switch is on "fire", and there are no magazines visible.
Hey there 2J. We have been battling the croup at our house. Bittygirl came down with it last Tuesday. The is on the tail end and coughing a lot (productive) during the day instead of at night. She gave it to me and KarateBoy, though for us, it's just an annoying cold. In any case, we are all on the mend. WooHoo!
PE bought a storm door (doggy door included) Saturday (Yippee!), and all the materials for our big project... a PVC bunk bed for KarateBoy. It is going to be really cool. The idea is to have it completed by Christmas. I am really hoping to have it done by Thanksgiving weekend. Phase two can wait until Christmas (that's where they (PE and KarateBoy) build and paint a castle facade around the bed).
We have new kid pics on our website (if you can call it a website ~ it's more like storage).
Here's the website link if you were wondering.

LOL!
Where and by whom was Narsil originally forged? Was it Khazâd or did the elves do it?
Good question. It was Elendil's sword, so I'd expect either Numenorean or Elvish. I'll have to look and see if there's a real answer for you. I would doubt it was Dwarvish
Okay, here's a question.
Are ninja Bad Guys or Good Guys?
~sigh~
Well, it ain't lookin' good. Apparently they're just not going to approve his thesis. He's got other options, I'll know more later...but at this point, I'm so upset...at the school and at Steve.
He's going to talk to his advisor hopefully tomorrow. And he'll know more about his options. Thankfully it's not hopeless and the whole 6 years hasn't been a complete wash...but I'm so upset I can't think straight.
as long as he's got wild eyes, roguish good looks, drinks like a fish, and has strong body odor, I approve...
Good grief! After all y'all have been through! I'll be keeping you guys in my prayers tonight.
