Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

My main character is now stranded in Alaska. Have to figure out how to get him from there to the Dark Realm. Why can't Hair fly him in? ;o)

I must say, Ruthy, Miami is about the WORST airport I've ever seen for having to be stuck in during a layover!! Clare and I had 3 hours to kill and we wanted a real breakfast. We had arrived in a new part that had recently been built, but all that was there were stands for coffee and pastries. We had to go over to the old part of the airport looking for a sit down place. We were about to give up and go back for a bagel in the new part when we just happened upon La Carreta , a little Cuban restaurant. There were no signs or any advertisements in the newer part of the airport to let you know it was there, or how to get to it, you just found it if you happened to walk past it!

A lady was reading that paperback while we were waiting to leave Miami the other day. I found the hardback on the Library's book sale rack the other day for a buck! WooHoo!

Christmas lights are going up....Oh yeah! Now's a good time to get the lights out on the bushes in front, while the weather is nice and mild! I've cheated and already started listening to my Christmas CD's. They're the 'classical' ones, so not Sammy Claus and snowmen and stuff. My favorites are the ones by Anonymous 4, and all female a cappela quartet that does 'early music'

I know it, Suzi.
It's a confusing place. :-(
I much prefer Ft Lauderdale / Hollywood airport and take my flights from there whenever possible.

One of the radio stations around here has switched over to all Christmas music all the time like they do every year.
I must say, 'winter wonderland' seems premature when the leaves are not all down yet.
To: Lil'freeper
I had a friend in college who named her car "B.O.B." It stood for "Bucket of Bolts."I had one of those in college. Door handles kept falling off! B.O.B is certainly a more acceptable name than P.O.S. ;o)

Just wanted to let you know that Ave Maria was great! Lovely place, too! Your friend was out of town on an Admissions recruiting trip, so didn't get to meet up.
