The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

We just got back from vetting the kittens... They had ear mites and worms, some fleas, a mild nose and eye cold, and they're too young to vaccinate, maybe 4-5 weeks instead of 6+.

This was their little travel bag for the vet trip.

Tweek having her ears medicated...

Yesterday I had a mother, and my life was better.

Oh the humiliation of it...

They aren't really eating as much as I'd like, so I bought some milk replacer and some canned food to see if they'll lap that up better.

There is no more pathetic creature than a cat just back from the vet. :(

Poor little kitties!

Are they out exploring the house yet or are they still huddling in the crate?

They're back in the crate, napping. They're exhausted. They'll get out in a couple hours probably, but they're a little intimidated by the dogs and the other kitty.

Gidget is very interested in them, and sniffs and licks them, I think she's being very maternal, but they find it pretty scary ;~D

Homer hasn't paid much attention to them.

Well Gidget watches a lot of Animal Planet. She knows what needs to be done. :)

Well, had a big interruption. Some family dropped by and I lost at least an hour. Have made good progress, but I don't think I'm going to make my goal of getting to the big meeting between the MCs and the Villan. Poo.

Heh, Character development is item #1 on my 'revise or die of embarassment' list. The she-MC is supposed to be the POV character, but the only insight I've written is for the he-MC. *sigh*

Okay...the llamas are in. Sort of. Got someone here who knits Argyle socks from alpaca wool.

Back from our write-in. It was pretty productive, for me.
