Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

rather funny in a horribly wrong and twisted and evil sort of a way. Yep... that's South Park. :-)

Yeah, me too. That's why I don't want anyone to see my crappy first drafts!

Three thousand words ahead, I'm at 8k. And I'm up now... meant to be up 9:30ish so I could do homework.

I'm taking a bit of a break. A chrming little movie called Love Actually has sucked me in. Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant. Triple swoon.
To: Lil'freeper
Double, maybe. I don't like Hugh Grant.
What's it about?

Took my walking break already. I'm listening to a football game and trying to knock out a thousand or so words before I break for lunch. I guess the neighbors will think I'm a slacker....lots of people raking leaves and I'm just leaving mine on the ground. Heck....I thought I'd let all the leaves fall before I start raking.
Think I'll make the BadGuy do something mean to someone.

All the different aspects of love. It's a series of vignettes, all connected. Parts are dear and charming others are pure anguish.
Oh, it has Liam Neeson, too. I love his voice. Quadruple swoon.
To: Overtaxed
I've killed off more people in my first two chapters than I ever thought would be in the story in the first place: 66 so far - though we don't have the full story on 14 of them yet.
To: RosieCotton
Now I have moved over to Panera Bread to get soem lunch and keep writing.
The coffee shop was fun but I spent WAY more time talking than typing.
To: Lil'freeper
I killed off an unknown number in my first. Several dozen at least. Since the sun is going to go nova though my body count is likely to hit the billions
To: no one in particular
Quite around here. Lunch was good. Now I am at work getting some story related files I need :D
To: TalonDJ
We're packing up to go to the write-in. Have to stop and get small, unmarked, nonsequential bills first.

No, I'm in last place.
Like you, though, I hope to break 10k by Monday morning.
Right now, my hero is at the hospital, about to meet his sister-in-law (cousin of the heroine) and nephew for the first time. Lots of background to cover.

Okay...the badgers are in.
I think my BadGuy's MO is to bore people to death.
