Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Pictures! We want pictures!
I'm gonna take Tam to the vet in a short while here. Since I haven't yet removed the Cat Carrier of DoOooOom from the closet, he's blissfully ignorant of what's about to happen.

There should be two... I don't know a thing about them, sex, color, nothin...
I don't think they've had any shots, so they'll have to go ASAP.... perhaps even tomorrow.

Hmmmm...not sure I can write for a dog...
I need to either, really get to work on real work or really get to work on writing, 'cause the election threads are gonna drive me nutz this weekend.

This guy really didn't want to go to work today.... In aerial shots on TV, you can see his tracks, driving a Loonnnng way from the highway, straight into the river.
Driver trapped in SUV in middle of Pilchuck River
07:30 AM PST on Friday, November 4, 2005
From KING5.com Staff Reports
SNOHOMISH, Wash. - A rescue effort is under way to free a driver trapped in an SUV that ended up in the middle of the Pilchuck River, just northeast of Snohomish.

KING
Aerial shots show the driver trapped in an SUV in the middle of the Pilchuck River, just northeast of Snohomish.
The driver and vehicle are located near Machias Road near Highway 2. Shots from Traffic KING show the SUV partially submerged and the driver waving his hands to emergency crews along both sides of the river.
According to Snohomish County Sheriffs spokesman Rich Neibish, the driver lost control of the vehicle and landed in the Pilchuck River shortly before 7 a.m. A dive team has been called out, but it may take crews a half an hour to actually reach the driver in the middle of the river.
KING 5 meteorologist Rich Marriott estimates the river's temperature to be around high 30s to low 40s, running the risk of hypothermia for both the driver and dive teams. The river's current also appeared to be running very strongly.

I just hope this vet's office that I kinda chose at random from the yellow pages is able to hope.
This place has a vet clinic on every corner, pretty well literally. CSU has a big vet school, and I guess a lot of 'em stick around. ;-) This one has been in business for a long time, though, and is close by. Hopefully they're nice.
It's hard starting out a new relationship of this sort. We took the pets to the same vet back home from the time I was nine or ten.

It is uncomfortable finding a new vet. Good luck! Is this just a regular shots appt, or is there something wrong?

Gosh...hope he's OK!
Of course, this being in Washington, I'm wondering just how you pronounce Pilchuck and Snohomish. You guys do some velly odd things with pronunciation. Pee-whallop? Or however you pronounce Puyallup? What's up with that?

His eye is messed up again. Swollen and red. Has been for some time, and this time the ointment that's always worked before isn't doing the trick. I'm just hoping there isn't something wrong that'll require surgery of some kind.
If I'm lucky, it's just a matter of a different antibiotic type of deal. But I dunno. At least he doesn't seem to be in much discomfort - he doesn't rub at it or anything. But it looks bad.
