Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I need a bunch of expose talking next and I was stalling at that. There is a 'write-in' tonight. If I can't get moving there then I will jump scenes.

Mornin'. Can I go home yet?
Already been to the gym, to the garage to pick up the van (regular service thing), got gas and made it to werk.
When I leave here today at 5:00, I have to:
1) Go to a rehearsal from 6-7
2) Go to Jr's game. I'll get there late, but I'll still be there before he puts Jr. in.
3) Stop by Walmart to pick up a couple of things I need for Luke's Pinewood Derby car
4) Go home, finish the car
5) Clean my desk off, balance the check book, pay bills
And then, maybe I get to write. But I have to have Luke at church tomorrow morning at 8:00 register for the Pinewood Derby. I'll be missing rehearsals for that. But they've been warned. If I can read the lines for Cat Woman and stand in for the African king...someone can cover for me for a couple of hours...

So, Miz Renegade...would you...
1) Wear your boots when you fly your private plane from Washington to Mississippi?
2) Fly solo or bring a date to the funeral?

Why not bring someone who will provide comfort and companionship at the funeral? If you're dating someone when a family member dies, chances are they also know the deceased. Under most circumstances, (and I have been to a lot of funerals) I don't see it as tacky at all, though I gather in my character's case, it's a little scandalous.

Well, if by date you mean "long-standing acquaitance/fiance type", no problem. It's the rather more amusing call up a recent friend and say "hey, I've got this funeral to go to, wanna come" idea that's amusing me.

Isn't that horribly tacky and just ew? And likely to be a rich source of gossip for the locals.
