Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Thanks!
Up to 3332. I'm gonna be OK.
And my main character is still on the first day's flashback. Just told off his boss, though, so he's headed for Dark Lord-dom...done with everyday workin'.

Hissy fit? I am glad you said she was nothing like you....
To: TalonDJ
I read that the first time as "I thought you said she was nothing like you". Good thing I reread it.

I need to try to write more tonight.
But I left the office at 5, picked up Jr., came home, finished getting dinner ready (beef in the crock pot). Got everyone fed and to church.
Brought Luke and Nana home, Jr. is staying for more rehearsal that I'm missing (see "Brought Luke and Nana home?)
Got Luke in bed. Packed my clothes for tomorrow and what lunchness I could find.
And I just sat down here.
I need to clean off my desk and pay some bills. But I'd rather write.
Still, I'm also feeling a trifle light-headed. Not sure what that's all about...

I remember saying something like:
"I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe
you should drive..."
Suddenly there was a terrible roar
all around us and the sky was full
of what looked like huge bats, all
swooping and screeching and diving
around the car...

Should I read that one of these days, or is it too weird even for me?

I don't think you'd get it unless you've done at least ~some~ of the drugs they talk about :~D

Hmmm...crockpot beef...
We had chicken, though - that was very good. Jen made it. I didn't hafta lift a finger tonight. Lazy me.
Tomorrow I'm not gonna get home until ten or so. Likely same for Friday. *sigh* I guess I'm bringing my writing toy to work with me to see if I can find time, though I dunno.

Someday you can tell me again what it's from. Not tonight, I'd never remember. But in other news...
This from the state dinner thread had me laughing 'til I cried.

*snicker*
Only drugs I've done are alcohol and caffeine, so I guess I wouldn't get it. ;-)

It was actually barbecue beef (but not the traditional or ~real~ vinegar base barbecue).
We bought 6 meals from My Girlfriend's Kitchen.
It's a cool concept. Not that pricey and it's much better than fast food. We got six meals from the October menu and will probably get 12 from the November menu.
They do all the shopping, all the chopping and you can go and put it together. Or they'll put it together for you.
