This lousy Mars movie came out in the 50's or 60's. You got the crew already Mars-bound and the skipper's explaining orbits. Wouldn't walk across the street with that crew.

I kinda liked the lousy Mars movie from the 60s that filmed all of the "Mars" scenes through a red filter.

Was that the one where the robot went psycho? I have almost no tolerance that for movies that blatantly insult the abilities and foresight of engineers. Hey guess what Hollywood, if you morons can think it up then a hundreds engineers already did and designed that flaw out.</p>

I'm calling it a night, too. I have to write reportsy stuff all day tomorrow. It's doubtful my first-day enthusiasm will last. Got most of the way through chapter 1. That's pretty good progress.

Yeah, that one. I just get mad at those things because A. knowing something about AI, it's gonna be a lot longer to intelligent robots than the Mars missions and B. Asimov came up with the stinkin' Three Laws so many years ago, there's just no excuse to have a 'bot without them.

One of the things I like about Mission to Mars is they colored the Mars scenes according to the colors seen by the various probes we've sent.

One time I did a systems engineering analisys of how many layers of redenant systems you would need to implement a workable '3 laws' system. The result was pretty insane.
