Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Here's the
post where I'd just gotten the news about my father-in-law. I had posted the day before that I was giving up on Nanowrimo.
But, lots of memories on that thread.

BTW, wouldn't the former Miss Mississippi wear cashmere? But of course. The only problem is trying to work in all the elements the other HH Nanos keep adding...

There's a couple of people on the initial "Entmoot" list that I'm not even sure I remember... (48,314) htur_75 is ecurbh's sister... she didn't pick up the habit I guess, and quit comin' around.
New Centurions hung around the LoTR threads for awhile, then disappeared too...
ksen and Penny, though, I don't remember who they are... ;~D

At the store next door there's a notice on the bulletin board "Reward" for a stolen gate. There's a picture of it, it's one of those big ornate iron gates ~like~ the one below, 16 feet wide.

Heh.. and someone ~stole~ it.

I didn't steal it, but I'd love to find one at a salvage yard to put up between me and the naybers. I've already threatened 'em that I'm gonna be a bit artsy with garden art.
I could grow all kinds of vines on that thing...

Oh, right, the old stolen gate trick. I remember that one - wait... no, that doesn't ever happen.
