Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I did come up with an opening on my way home from work today.
I think I'll just start typing and let it write itself.
Even if it sucks eggs, it'll be a satisfying personal challenge.
How many words a day do they ask for?

Winter's coming.
Temps here have finally fallen below 80. It's marvelous.
Doesn't last long, but I love this time of year here. Everyone's in a better mood and folks spend more time outdoors.

Well, thanks for the recommendation.
We would like to point out that the windswept prairies of Kansas in late December can be adventure to say the least.
However, there will always be a place in our part of the shire for hobbits and dwarves who wish to share our table and hearth.

Uh, nope. LSA fixed tacos and made guacomole, so Gypsygirl got a dollop of taco meat in her dish. She was appropriately enthusiastic.

Well, here's my boys...getting ready to head to the "Fall Festival" at the church down the street. Only two people figured out who they were. I would have thought the towel would've made it a dead giveaway!

The loot...

And I have almost two months to find an adoptive family. ;-)Check with your Parish. I'll bet there are some others at the college who may be staying through the Holidays. Maybe y'all can all get together and cook dinner at the Parish Hall or something! Maybe even do a gift swap or something.
