Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Going to put lights in that tree in the corner. I think it's grown some since I took this picture.

It's putting out leaves like crazy!
Hope I don't have to move it "inside" for the winter. So far the temps in TheSunRoom have stayed about 60.

I'm still nervous around ecurbh's folks, because we aren't around them enough to be really familiar, and I'm not me when I'm with them.

Preliminary plan is new years.

It keeps my tears, which I don't have much of, from draining out the duct into my nose.
You have two ducts...one on the top lid and one on the bottom, in the corner of your eye near your nose. Tears constantly lubricate the eye and run out of those ducts, draining into your nose and down the back of your throat.
The idea is that they plug my bottom ducts and it keeps more of my short supply tears in my eye...excess (I don't believe I have much excess) can still flow out the top duct.

Huh - fair enough then! Hope that makes you feel better!
When Bay's ducts become clogged, which is common, his eyes just water and run down his face. The vet stuck a very small hose up through the duct in his nose, and blew water out the top in his eye. Fascinating :~D

The temporary ones did great. I noticed my eyes felt cool...not gritty and when I'd wake up in the morning I didn't have to tear my lids off my eyes. My eyelids would be literally adhered to my eyes. REM is enough to jolt me awake because it feels like my eyes are being sandpapered!
I'm very optimistic.
They say that the RK surgery I had likely cut the communication between the surface of my eyeball and the tear-making gland. So my eye doesn't know it's dry and it doesn't tell the gland to make tears.
If it's really bad, they can actually do both upper and lower ducts. We're talking zip zero NO lubricating tears.
The main problem with these plugs is that they occasionally flush out and you're back to dry eyes again. In that case, they can laser the duct shut.

I'm officially freaked out. I'm pretty hard to freak out, you know, but eyeball stuff does it to me any time.

My dry eyes have actually gotten worse over the last few years...especially after I got hit with that electric plug and then Jar Jar's wing. My eyes watered in those cases, but not much.
It's starting to damage my eyes.
The collagen plugs they put in lasted 3 days and were great...so I'm looking forward to these...they are silicone.
