The Hobbit Hole XXV - Fare you well! Fare you well!
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 10/15/2005 7:13:08 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Fare you well! Fare you well!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...

I don't think I want to stick it out through another one, Bear.

Too scary during and too frustrating after.

So what are yall up to tonight? Not much going on around here but dinner, bleach, and contemplation of popcorn.

Dude, they're being dense. We're gonna have to hit 'em with a clue-by-four.

The problem with posting strange cryptic things is people tend to stop paying attention to them...

It took my brother four days to get gasoline for his car after Katrina! There was no power in town to run the gas pumps. He was able to finally get some about the same time he was able to get a generator! I think it was a week before they got their power restored. There were power crews from all over the country working on the lines in MS.

Evening!

How do you like the DSL?

Sorry for the vanishing act, but the DSL disappeared for a while there.

I'm still trying to get the kids in bed. Having power is so exciting, they can't seem to settle down.

That was one good thing about no electricity. They were SO bored and it was so dark, they fell asleep every night by 9. :-D

We've just finished watching Frosty the Snowman.

welllll, I'm kinda of torn. With dial-up I could take a longer lunch, since everything took so long to load. Now, I do my usual surfing so fast that I'm doing things that needed to be done, but I couldn't fit in with my surfing time. And since my eyes have been "fixed" I'm noticing more that needs to be done!!!
