Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm unlikely to be fired for being overly boring in my clothing choices...My dog wound't dig it up. Too much like werk...
But I may try that on the back bed. I put some moletox in with the bulbs I planted out front. It was pretty stinky too.

How about "Oh, for cryin' out loud!"
The last thing I saw last night on Gary Gray's tropical site was that the main threat was south FL. That caused me a little lost sleep. And the NHC said they expected Wilma to be a very intense hurricane.
Thankfully, things look a little better today on all counts. For the moment, Miami is out of the cone of death, barely.

Do you have your Social Security Card with you? That would simplify matters, as well.

you guys gotta get out more...Well, when you consider that the popular thing nowadays is the "Poetry Slam", which makes the 'beat poets' look downright articulate, the pickins is kinda slim. So when I read somethin purty, I likes it!

It has been breezy and rainy here for 2 days now, with the breeze coming from the wrong direction. I figured something was brewing even before I checked the NHC site yesterday.

Interesting tidbit from Ain't It Cool News... Evidently,
Howard Shore has pulled out of scoring PJ's King Kong, and has been replaced by James Newton Howard (best known for The Sixth Sense, Signs, and The Village).
Universal confirmed today that James Newton Howard will compose the original score for Universal Pictures' dramatic adventure KING KONG, which is directed by triple Academy Award winner Peter Jackson. Mr. Howard replaces Howard Shore, who is leaving the project.
Peter Jackson made the following statement: "I have greatly enjoyed my collaborations with Howard Shore, whose musical themes made immeasurable contributions to the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. During the last few weeks, Howard and I came to realize that we had differing creative aspirations for the score of KING KONG. Rather than waste time arguing with a friend and trying to unify our points of view, we decided amicably to let another composer score the film. I'm looking forward to working with James Newton Howard, a composer whose work I've long admired, and I thank Howard Shore, whose talent is surpassed only by his graciousness."

Evening...
My shoulder hurts. Need to shoot .30-06 more*. I shot 15 rounds on an indoor range yesterday...basically just verifying my zero; also didn't want to have the ammo lying around loose.
'Twould help if range time wasn't $17.00/hr.

Oh well, Shore did a magnificient job on LOTR. I hadn't planned to see King Kong anyway, so I wouldn't have heard it anyway. I do like James Newton Howard's work, though.

Dunno about y'all, but while I liked those Shyamalan pix, I remember 'zackly jack about the scores.
