Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I like the Bucs better than I do the Dolphins, but I can't say that too loud.

Heh. The problem is that "winging it" conflicts with my scientifid methodology." :) I'm always asking "what's the protocol?"
To: RMDupree
The hometown crowd is happy so far. Chiefs leading the Redskins 28 to 21.
However, I'm waiting for baseball.

Bah. My scientific methodology is "make up some data to fit my conclusions".

Just don't get caught ;-)
Got my laundry finished and my closet reorganized. I've actually accomplished quite a bit this weekend... guess I can take a few minutes to research the Amazon. My heroes are going to have to fend off giant snakes while searching for Nazi gold.

Afternoon!
Dad sent me a birthday check, so I felt like I was allowed to go werk clothing shopping. Last job was basically jeans and hiking boots type casual...this one is normal business casual.
Now I have slacks and oxford kinda shirts (the kind that don't wrinkle) and a few sweater type tops. It'll work. Granted, I have several tops that are identical except for color, but I figure a) I'm working with guys, who won't notice, and b) I'm unlikely to be fired for being overly boring in my clothing choices...

Afternoon!
It's so nice I've moved computer and barbecue out to TheSunRoom. I really need to wash the winders. :)

Nice here, too. I love the fact that it's nice and crisp in the mornings, but still warms up by afternoon.
It was in the low 40s when I got up...now it's in the mid-70s.

We're supposed to have lows in the 50's/60's and highs in the 80's this week.

So tell me again what the bloodmeal is supposed to do? Do you mix it in as you plant or put it on top?
I gots bulbs to plant when I finish the streambed.

I'm unlikely to be fired for being overly boring in my clothing choices... You could always wear a scarf, but be careful.
Remember what happened to Isadora Duncan...

Not until Tuesday, but I go down tomorrow to do some of the starting-up paperwork type stuff. I'm assuming it'll be things like filling out a W-2, or whatever the right form number is. Prolly should make sure I have a birth certificate and such along.

The instructions say to work it into the soil before you plant the bulbs. I also top dressed the pansies and daffodils with it.
Bloodmeal is a 12% nitrogen fertilizer....stinks to high heavens and the squirrels don't seem to like it. So far they haven't disturbed the crocus bed. I'm just wondering if yer dog might dig up all yer stuff. I once planted some bulbs with bonemeal (not exactly the same thing, but it still stinks) and the nayber dogs dug it all up.
