I got a copy of the pictorial directory from the lady that's been working on it for months. It looks awful and copies even worse.
My friend that offered to step into the gap and re-do it has worked on it tirelessly...she is doing it in Word...easy to download to disk and take to ups store for printing.
I just saw it...it looks great. I'm really really indebted to her!
So that's one thing I don't have to worry about so much. But I swear the last three days have been absolutely dreadful.
I have a Sam's Club credit card. It's a joint membership card with my parents...the membership is joint but not the credit card. Last month, we paid it a few days late. We owed a minimum of $24 but we paid $125. Lots more than needed but still late. I hate it because they charge a late fee but there you go.
Well, even though my parents are not jointly on my credit card, for some strange reason they got my credit card statement for THIS month. On the statement it said we had to pay the late fee for the month before, right?
Apparently my parents FREAKED OUT thinking they were responsible for my credit card and the reason it was sent to them was because I had defaulted on the card and I was going to ruin their credit. They paid the bill in full, wrote me an email saying "We kindly paid your bill in full, you can pay us back and oh by the way, we cancelled your card."
Well, I nearly died. How could it be?? We never had any trouble before!! So I immediately called Sam's Credit and they said "No, you don't have any problems with your account." and "No, no one but you can cancel your account" and "No, your account isn't tied in with the other people in the membership and they're not responsible for your account".
So I CALLED my dad and told him what the rep at Sams had said and he said very emphatically "We've CANCELLED your card!"
Then I got an email last night from my dad verifying everything I'd said. No, they hadn't cancelled my card, because they couldn't and they found out they weren't responsible for my card and because of that they'd asked for their money back.
So I called Sam's again and found that no payment had been received but that if they did receive a payment, my parents couldn't just ask for their money back...the money would be credited to my account! The only thing I could do would be to transfer the funds to *their* Sam's credit card.
Which I will do immediately.
And I'm shutting down that account toot sweet, I can tell ya.
Also, I found out that when my parents changed their mailing address through Sam's, the rep that changed the address went ahead and changed my billing address to their address too...which is why my parents got my statement.
So because my credit card statement got forwarded to their house and without calling and finding out, they assumed (since I'm such a terrible person) that I had quit paying my card payments and left the bill for them to pay. Something I have NEVER done in my life, but that fact makes little difference.
I've hardly eaten in 2-3 days.

I wish that would happen to me, I could stand to lose the pounds. :~D
You know me well enough, I hope, to know that I would not keep that money. But I can guarantee you they are having absolute rigors that they sent that money without any need! They're sure they'll never see it again.
So there's some humor in that.

But it was just very stressful. I got the email from them saying they'd cancelled the card while I was talking to you and Jen about the Pictorial directory situation.
