I just priced out furniture for our office. They want to cram 2 more people into our cubicle land. So we have to rearrange and buy some more pieces.
The companies we are *obligated* to buy from rob the taxpayer blind. So you want to buy a desk? Ok, it's $300. File drawers will add on $300, and the little pencil drawer is another $99 oh and if you want cabinets on top (a hutch) add on another $600! Then you gotta buy a blasted chair.
*grumble*mumble*mutter*sputter*

Well, we decided not having some of the Windows boxes was bad. So we brought down the Windows network so none of them worked. Hah hah hah. This is nervous laughter. It's fixed now, mostly, but for a minute I thought we might have lost our domain controller.
Can I go home now?

They called us into work yesterday, but I just couldn't make it. I'm here today and completely swamped, of course.

I got some video and as soon as power and DSL is restored to my house, I'll try to see if I can figure out that mpeg program. :-D
The neighborhood is a complete mess. No traffic lights so there are lots of car accidents. A curfew of 8pm has been implemented. The water was shut off all day at my house, but came back last night (Thank God!). No phone, no electric - prolly until the weekend, at least.
That's the short version.
Oh! Drove to the hospital and had Alyson's cast removed this morning, as well - so that is one ray of light in this mess.
Wish I could chit-chat longer, but I need to get as much work done as possible in order to be out in time to get home before curfew. :-/
