Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Fare you well! Fare you well!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It must create vortices between the heated coils...and it's worse when you use both slots.

Morning!
It's a little brisk in The Shire...but it sure seems to have the squirrels energized.

Have 3 shutters left to put up and still have to secure the patio items.
My stomach is in knots today over this storm, even though it does seem that she may head a bit north of us.
I guess it's just a worry that she'll hit low and strong. And maybe just a touch of insecurity over my ability to handle it all as "man of the house".
Still hoping it's going to fizzle out. :-D

I'm hoping that too Ruthy.
I wish you weren't near it.
I wish none of this was happening.
We're watching Old Yeller... Maybe that will cheer ya up :~\

Oh yeah. Nothin' like watching Old Yeller to lift your spirits. :-/
Maybe I should follow it up with Beaches. ;-)

Actually, I can't get over how ~corny~ this movie is. The dialogue is just awful.

Yeah -
Well, we're heading out to set fire to our big stick pile, if possible, it's awful wet.
Had to turn that movie off 'fore it got to the bad part.

I figure we'll make it just like Christmas...so much so that they might not even remember in the future that it really wasn't Christmas.
And really...if I hid the calendar and just told them "Next week is Christmas.", "In two days it's Christmas.", "Tomorrow it's Christmas", then "It's Christmas", I doubt they'd know or care otherwise!
He he!

I'm freepin' at the library. Matthew enjoys coming here and looking at the lucasarts website with their high speed internet...it doesn't do very well at our house.

Lie to your kids? Tsk, tsk... they'd probably figure it out anyway, don't you do Christmas Eve service?

Yeah...I couldn't do it. They'd know it wasn't the "real" Christmas day.
Still, we'd celebrate full force, just early.
We never have gone to a Christmas Eve service. I'm sure the church has them, we just don't go. Of course, we'll go to the Christmas Day service, since it falls on Sunday anyways.
