Posted on 10/14/2005 9:08:25 PM PDT by skimask
Tomorrow, one of the biggest games of this years collegiate football season will be played between the undefeated Trojans from USC and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. What do my fellow FReepers think about this game?

ND is pretty da*ned good - USC has a real challenge. ND leads at half by 10, goes on to win by 3.
From a Michigan fan :-(

All for the Irish! Glad they are back in the hunt. USC is tough though. Their offense vs. ND's defense. Game of the year.

Don't have a horse in this race...but because I was born in Southern California, and I am retired Protestant Army chaplain, I guess I will have to pull for...Army.

USC wins big.
But I'm a Penn State fan so I'm more concerned about that game.

ND's defense is going to have to play the game of their lives to win. I think they will.

I'm a Mich fan but since the season has been destroyed by our jerk coach I want someone to have a good one and I want the coach to leave so I'm perversely for Penn St.

Well, I'm a tad worried because I know Michigan will come out fighting and it's our first big road test.
But thanks anyways(:

USC wins by 7-10 pts.
Notre Dame puts up a hell of a fight but USC's depth is too much.
On a side note, the Univ of Minnesota (my alma mater) plays the Univ of Wisconsin tomorrow. At stake is Paul Bunyan's Axe, a much coveted trophy that is claimed by the winner of the game. The game is played in Minneapolis at the Humphrey Metrodome.
Anyone wanna venture an opinion on this game?

GO PENN STATE!!!!
Oops, sorry, this is the USC/Notre Dame thread. ;-)
I want ND to win. They won't. USC wins by a couple of touchdowns. All the luck of the Irish in the world doesn't overcome talent. USC has boatloads of talent, especially on the offensive side.
GO PENN STATE!!!! :-)

I agree with you. ND's defense has been very spotty so far. USC has a great team. Objectively, I'm leaning towards Notre Dame to win what may turn out to be one of the best games this season. Go ND !

For sure. Amazing finish last drive for 90 yards with less than a minute left.

If SC cleans house on the rest of their games and the BCS championship, like last year, and ND finishes the season clean... then you'd think that should start SC and ND as 1 and 2 at the beginning of next year.

Where do SC and ND meet next year? I would guess the Coliseum, they switch off every year.

See my post # 2. I was (If I do say so myself) amazingly prescient on this one. Barring the last second touchdown by SC I would have been practically perfect. Very bad luck for ND - I think they were the better team.
