Left Behind!

I can't believe that Bush picked Harriet Miers. It appears that us conservatives have been sold down the river. I guess, in the end, the Bush Admin. wasn't up to the challenge and placated to the dems.
I was so certain that Bush was going to pick a solid conservative with CREDENTIALS to replace O'Connor. Instead he picked a decent lawyer and a good friend.
We've all been betrayed and duped by this pick.
This sucks!

So I guess you all know more that Rush, eh? Rush today on his show even stated that this pick was made out of "weakness"....that the Bush Admin did it b/c they weren't prepared to fight for a true conservative.
God help us!
Sure, we can all HOPE that she does turn out to be a true conservative, but why should we have to hope or wonder. Why not pick someone we already know is conservative??
And whatever happened to picking a hispanic? That was a fatal error not picking a hispanic.

You are going to base your you opinion of posters here, based on our responses to this thread? that is rather shallow thinking. Even at that just because we don't think lockstep with you our we go on faith that the president has made the right pick does not make all of US RINO's Perhaps you need to reassess your thoughts and think of who is the actual RINO here.

Your comment on people following blindly on Bushes Pick... Yet you comment that Rush is the all knowing conservative.. You logic is failing you cannot slam people for agreeing with Bush and then saying we should agree with Rush instead... truely a gap in your logic there.

Ive heard allot of griping, whining and complaining today. Ive heard people just loose control on FR today. Grow up. Name one bad pick President Bush has made to a Judicial bench. President Bush has made many great choices for Judges. Stop your goofy crying, or go vent at moveon.org, they are complaining about the nomination pick too, calling her extreme, anti-choice, neo-con and all the things I like to hear.

Seems you're more concerned about what a few pundits think than about what YOU think.
Mr Limbaugh does your thinking for you, and you call folks here "sheeple" - that's rich, really it is.

Yeah I choose to think outside of most Conservative pundits.. I base the pick on their merits just not what the Pres says or a bunch of pundits.
Pundits have a vested intrested in the comments they make.... and theirs is only speculation...
you don't know me or my politics so you have no place to judge anyone... you post rhetoric not facts just like the pundit speak in rhetoric not facts... and if you are following the pundits who is the real sheeple... careful the stones you throw... they come back.

I'll admit I'm a bit more heated than normal. I guess I was just all pumped about seeing a real conservative be nominated and looked forward to battling the dems and watching them get beat.
Instead we have a pick that Ried and Schumer both LIKE!!!
Shouldn't this tell us something.
I guess time will eventually tell. I'd just rather not being taking such a huge gamble when it comes to such an important position.

Hannity and Scarborough brilliant? Krystal has been waivering for years, and well Limbaugh he is good and jumped too quick on this one.
I am proud to be a sheeple if it means I can think independently and still can sit back with an open moind and not over react to a pick I know just enough about as to not get retarded and start a thread and dont reply to posts.

I know - I intentionally kept away from the speculating threads here because this President picks who HE wants, he doesn't read polls like the last resident of the White House.
As far as Sens Ried and Schumer go, they didn't sound all that enthused about her one way or the other - they just had to go through a ton of paperwork about Justice Roberts (who incidentally made them look like utter fools during the confirmation hearings) and they know it's going to be more of the same this time.
We'll see how the confirmation hearings go; until then, sit back and watch the fireworks.

I was watching Tucker Carlson last hour and he said he spoke to someone today who is a good friend of Miers, who stated that she's a very nice lady but that she's not conservative. Just FYI.

One last comment and I'll leave.
Can we rename this site to FreeDemocracy.com ?
I think it would more accurately reflect many of your beliefs and stances.

Where does it say in the consitution that they must come from a top school, should have been a judge before this etc. Maybe someone who hasn't been a judge or a constitutional scholar will actually consult the Constitution when weighing decisions?
To: Mike Darancette
I think thats the hope here mike....some people can seem to see that though.

Americanwofl,
I have no beef with you. You're entitled to your opinions. I'm just shocked that there's not more people that feel like I do on this board.
Is anyone else concerned by this pick? Can anyone tell me how Miers is more qualified than say Janice Rogers Brown or Edith Jones?
