Hello everyone,
I've been away from the forums for a while, but for good reason; I've been training down in Dulles at Independence Air, and I'm proud to say that after five weeks of intense training, I am now one of FlyI's twelve newest flight attendants! It's something I've thought of doing for a while now, and I'm so grateful that the opportunity came up for me. You may love us; you may hate us, but wish me luck, because I'm about to embark on a journey that I won't soon forget. Thanks for reading,
NASBWI
I'm so glad for you. How wonderful. I'm on a job search now, but I'm getting really discouraged. Anyway, best of luck to you.
(I got a job) Sha na na na, sha na na na na (repeat above 2 lines 3 times) Well, I fin'lly fin'lly fin'lly fin'lly fin'lly (got a job) Sha na na na, sha na na na na
sweet, goodluck to you! And HAVE FUN!
did you learn about "crop dusting"?
Looks like I'm not the only one. LOL...
Does this mean that if we identify ourselves as a Freeper we get free drinks?
LOL
Oh well you can't blame a girl for trying. Do you know which flights you will be on?
Congrats on your new job as a flight attendant. I hope you like it. I hear it has it's ups and downs.
Good luck.
Wow, thanks for all the support everyone! To answer some questions, I have yet to be certified by the FAA, and that will happen beginning this Sunday/Monday - my first flight will be IAD-BDL-IAD (that's Dulles - Hartford - Dulles for those who may not know city codes).
As for peanuts (I can't resist this): we don't have 'em. We DO, however, have sunchips, pretzels, fruit & oatmeal bars, and vanilla cookies for your refreshment. Not to mention something that most other (domestic) airlines don't offer: hot towels and mints prior to landing - on ALL flights. Something to think about the next time you're sitting on (insert other airline here), wondering why the flight attendant threw your peanuts at you.
As for the pictures, I have to upload them to my computer, but if you're hoping I'm a leggy blonde with a toothy grin, I'm afraid you're mistaken; I'm very much male - though I do grin a lot. However, I was the *token* guy in my training class, and the ladies with whom I trained were all wonderful people (not to mention very easy on the eyes), and I'm sure that some of you will have the opportunity to meet them at some point.
Again, thanks for the support, and I look forward to serving you in the future! Cheers!
What sort of work are you looking for? I'll bet there are plenty of FReepers who could offer you some leads. This is an amazing place.
Best of luck!
Congrats! Now don't show that new Jody Foster movie inflight anytime soon...the flight attendants are terrorists!
I don't know all of the airport codes, and I don't know all off the airline ones either. I don't know what the heck the name of the airline is you are going to work for! :-) HUH????
Congrats however, I am sure you are going to LOVE your job!
You know, it's funny; on my recent familiarization flight, I noticed that it could be a little bit of an issue with those sitting in the aisles. Gotta luv narrow aisles eh? If it makes you feel, we won't be careening down the aisle with a 60+lb cart ;-) I promise.
LOL! Well, truth be told, since I'm primarily in the Baltimore area, I wasn't too familiar with Independence Air either. They used to be a United Express partner till late 2003/early 2004, when they ended their contract and became their own entity (that's it in a nutshell). It's an ambitious airline with a lot of great ideas, and hopefully they'll do very well in the future (I swear I'm not spewing some corporate bs; I deduced all that from the five weeks of training and the attitudes I encountered therein).
Best of luck to you.
Insert "better" after feel; Sorry 'bout that.
Thanks! That clears it up! :-) Have a wonderful career!
Five bucks for a lite beer!?!
Congratulations!! I'm very happy for you. :~)
