No, it is not as simple as we disagree.

Yes it is.

It's as simple as YOU ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE, YOU AGREE WITH THE ACLU, AND YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT CONSIQUENCES NOR MOTIVESS.

No, I hate to tell you this, but it really is just as simply as: We disagree. Sure, it's human nature to think that anyone who disagrees with us MUST be mentally insane, a criminal, uneducated, or impaired in some other way, shape or form. But the fact is, most of those who disagree with us are perfectly fine people who just disgree with us.

It's a tough pill to swallow. And takes some years to come to the realization, but eventually it hits you. You realize that you don't know everything, aren't the authority on everything, and that the folks who disagree with you are just fine folks .... who disagree with you. It kind of hits around the same time that you realize that you have been taking yourself far to seriously for far too many years. It's generally called "maturity" or some such similar word, and can occur at different ages, but for most adults - it eventually does dawn upon them.

I'm sure you are a very fine upstanding person, in perfectly good mental health. And I'm also sure that you disagree with me. And that's okay. It's what makes a free country great.

If you're older than 18, you really do need to do something about your posting style and the way you think.

I've considered your request, and it is respectfully declined. I do appreciate the consideration though.

When do you imagine, that you will finally, at long last attain that ashes of maturity, that you're talking about?

I hate to tell you this, but you are wrong; dead wrong and you really should stop digging now. The following, is what's really "simple"; try to follow it.

There is no valid reason to release those pictures to the world.

This judgment will be appealed.

That you agree with the outcome, thus far, makes you an enemy of this country, our troops, the Americans living here and abroad, and a pariah on FR. I hope that you enjoy that status here.

I have read this thread in its entirety and should be shocked at your lack of understanding and/or compassion for the battle that faces our military men and women every day. Unfortunately, I am not shocked. You are no different than the Cindy Sheehan's and every other self-serving wacko that happens to be an American.

Our son served in Iraq, and like he says, it's people like you who just love to rub their faces in the actions of a miniscule few who did something bad. People like you don't give a rats hiney about the men and women still in harms way, those men and women who jeopardize their lives every day for the wants of people like you. If you tell me you support our troops, I will call you a LIAR. If you really cared, you wouldn't want to yet again bring out the ammo that emboldens our enemies.

Our son and every soldier I have talked to is absolutely disgusted with what happened at Abu Graib. The fact that this is and has been in the public eye for a long time now, has been the cause for much pain, dishonor and horror to every decent military man and woman, and has also been dealt with through the courts, isn't enough for people like you. You want to drag it all back to the world stage yet again. And for what??? You say it is your right to know. Well if you've been paying attention at all to the Abu Graib situation, then you already know what happened.

How many people in the U.S. and the world at large, haven't already been treated to the pictures and story of what some did at Abu Graib?? If anyone hasn't heard it, they weren't paying attention.

But now you sit in your comfy chair, putting every military wife, military family, military loved ones and friends in further danger because you just have some sort of sick yearning to have the pictures further flaunted on the world stage.

I will thank God tonight that there are still decent Americans in this world who put the lives and safety of our troops, and fellow Americans, BEFORE their selfish "needs".

I'd say more, but I am the mother of a soldier. An HONORABLE soldier who serves with HONORABLE men and women. You aren't worthy to shine their boots, IMHO.

"The judge said he recognized the pictures might be useful to the public as it answers questions about the prison scandal, including whether those in command knew about the abuse and how extensive it was.

Yet, he said, there was a "high prurient value" in the pictures.

"A judge cannot look at these without thinking to himself how quickly they'd be put on the 6 o'clock or 11 o'clock news and how easily they could be subverted to create a false picture of this country," he said.

U.S. Attorney David Kelley told the judge that insurgents and propagandists in Afghanistan and Iraq would claim that a judge's order to release the pictures was a "deliberate war act" by the United States.

He said insurgents who already are increasing the deadliness of their attacks would claim that more pictures were being released to "rub the noses of the Muslim world" in what had happened."

EVEN THE JUDGE, in August, admitted that posting this pictures yet again could and probably would be BAD. So tell me, Stu, did you send in your $$$ to the ACLU, to help this judge buy his way to a decision? Or do you firmly believe that this judge believes what you do....that the lives of our fellow Americans aren't as important as the posting of more pics on the internet and MSM. Good grief, man, are you insane?
