Just teasing you....

I did a lot more radio than TV, myself.

Maybe they all use makeup. Maybe they even all use mascara. But Shep's publicity stills seem like they should have a tagline: "Maybe it's Maybelline!"

"Both of them belong on a show like current affair or the like."

In fact, whorealdo will have a new show next season, which is about current affairs, my bet is he will have Mark Furman as a regular.

"just teasing you"

I figured you were .. and from your reaction .. I kinda got the impression you were familiar with radio .. LOL!

I loved doing radio .. it was so much more fun than TV. I really only did the half-hour news and some commercials, but what I really did was program a huge automated FM station - changing music reels and programming a wheel filled with all the commercial carts.

My favorite part of the job was calling up people who were involved in organizations and helping them put forward a promo for their event. We had so many good laughs. I got to meet so many great people.

What did you do in radio ..??

Lighten up folks. This thread, for the most part, is crawling all over Shep Smith in...and from time to time Geraldo Rivera. This kind of mock/hate personal attack stuff is something I expect to see on a leftie blog...driven by a key'd up crowd of haters. I have met Rivera several times at social functions as we lived in adjoining towns in NJ. He's no prize, but I can tolerate him. Shepard Smith is simply a free spirit. His 1 hr news program is pretty damn dull when he is not on for the night.

They're not good JOURNALISTS.

Lightening up on Whorealdo and Shep the Painted Lady is acceptance of mediocrity. Help yourself to all the mediocrity you want, n00b, but leave me out of it.

I agree wholeheartidly.

When anybody else does Shep's program, it's not as good. I like his delivery and style.

Why are we busy tearin up Fox folks?

Hmmmmm?? I worked in Silicon Valley (Santa Clara), CA for years and years in the semiconductor area. I grew up in Sunnyvale. I moved to San Diego because the humid weather was better for my sinuses.

What kind of research ..??

You don't get it. Say what you want, just get rid of the snide remarks about people. It makes you sound ignorant and cheapens your message....if you have one.

My vote's for Rick. And if someone ever shows him how to tie a necktie, he'd be even better. :)

I've opined on this before: Shepard Smith is an automatic, no-questions-asked channel change for me.

I'd be worried about the guys who use it in radio ;-)

He has a good speaking voice with a slight Southern drawl and he looks like he enjoys his work.

Maybe that's what appeals to me. I don't know why FReepers hate poor Shep so. I like his manner of speaking, he looks like he's having fun, and his show is a little less heavy than some of the others.

In a full day (I get Shep at 3pm out here) of FNC watching and talk radio listening, a little lightness is appreciated. I can go back to the gloom and doom at any time.

I don't fault him for being a bit emotional during the storm. He's from MS; I'm sure he was worried about people and places that held meaning for him while he was out there doing his job.

What's w/the guys? I never noticed any mascara on Shep and if he wears it, I assume its for the cameras. Some people must be awfully unsure about their own masculinity to be constantly harping on someone else's.
