Rick Folbaum Better than Shep Smith at Fox's Studio B? [Fox News Inside Baseball Vanity]
Fox News | governsleast governsbest

Watching Fox News to catch up on the latest Delay news, I see that Rick Folbaum is filling in for Shep Smith.

My two cents says Folbaum is better than Shep. Smith is too 'hot,' not in the Paris Hilton meaning, but in the sense that the show often seems more about him than about the news. He's a distraction.

Folbaum seems more of a straightforward TV news journalist. He wears better.

Your thoughts?

By the way, Folbaum refereed a debate on the Delay matter between Democrat Cong. Pasquale of New Jersey and Republican McHenry of North Carolina. I have to admit I thought Pasquale got the better of the exchange. He came across as more spontaneous and real. McHenry, as Pasquale pointed out, seemed to be reading from a list of talking points.

Here's a link to Folbaum's bio:

Good grief. Why don't you stand out in 125 MPH winds and see how gracefully you fall. Ridiculous!

Agree, I do not watch the Drama Queen Shep. He was part and parcel of the fraud that was the reporting on Katrina and the Cesspool, aka NO!

My grandmother could fall more masculinely than he did.

But maybe not in the middle of a Cat 4 hurricane.

I dunno if Shep is gay or not. He sure does flirt with the ladies quite a bit. He really seems to get a rise outta embarrassing Jane Skinner that way.

Today when i heard Rick Folbaum talking i thought his voice sounded kinda feminine.

I have to head out now, but when I get back I'll tally up all the votes. Rick is definitely leading, but the polls haven't closed in some of those Shep-leaning precincts on the West Coast!

Put Shep Smith and Juan Williams together and you might get half a brain.

I vote for Folbaum.

Shep has revealed his penchant to te left too many times for me, plus I still remember him saying the Swift Boat Vets were liars.

His completely hysterical hurricane coverage was the last straw.

I also would like someone to slap Neil Cavuto up the side of the head and get him to quit pandering to Jack Welch and wringing his hands over everything that happens.

My beloved's toy poodle would be better than Shep anchoring Studio B:

And now from Fox News headquarters in Studio B, here's Sophie!

"Ruff! Ruh-ruff ruff ruff...."

I don't see anything about Shep to point in that direction at all.

The mascara brush MIGHT be pointing that way.

I like them both. I don't think it's an either/or thing.

I'm with you, both of them are very good.

In a previous Shep thread I summed him up as "A Drama Queen, an Intelectual Strawweight, womens division (102 lb and under) and a complete Jackass." I stand by my assessment.

Having worked in radio and TV - they all use makeup - so that has nothing to do with it.

You've said it all! I can't think of anybody now at Fox who irritates me, and it's very nice that the "Velvet Frog" aka Rita Cosby has departed.

One reporter always overlooked in these threads is Carol McKinley. I think she does a terrific job and seems very real and likable. No relation!

I vote Anybody But Shep. Hw reminds me of Anderson Gay on that other channel. I go surfing during the hour they're both on.

I believe Frost lost his seat because of the redistricting in Texas.
I like Folbaum, also.

Well .. I'm sorry that I worded it the way I did .. because if I had worded it correctly .. it wouldn't have been such a stupid statement.

You're right .. I've never known any radio guys who use make-up (except for the promo shots), but all the TV people did wear makeup. I used to do TV commercials (for local businesses), and I also had to wear make-up.
