There are always certain "tokens" in some of these reality TV shows. Amazing Race has a token black and usually a token gay.

The Italian dad seemed fairly calm while his kids and wife were ranting their heads off over and over. The camera zoomed in several times to his face. I suppose expecting him to blow a gasket but to show he was essentially biting his tongue.

He's probably got ear plugs in! Wouldn't you have? : ) Maybe he's learned to tune her out--can you imagine living with all that screaming day in and day out for 30 years? Ugh.

I think that part of his problem is that he lets his kids treat the wife like dirt.
She has allowed it as well, but it seemed she was getting not only sick of it but embarrassed as well. Wish she wouldn't have sucked up to them when it turned out they made it in time. Yuck!

What's amazing to me is that this is the FIRST day and they aren't even trying to be polite on camera. Imagine how they are going to be when the nerves get really frayed in some place like India.
