Mrs. Slim thinks I'm flawless, as long as I do what she says.

Not that you would care for any serious debate on the subject, however, others on this thread my be interested in this.

"Proposed Seal for the United States On July 4, 1776, Congress appointed Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams "to bring in a device for a seal for the United States of America." Franklin's proposal adapted the biblical story of the parting of the Red Sea (left). Jefferson first recommended the "Children of Israel in the Wilderness, led by a Cloud by Day, and a Pillar of Fire by night. . . ." He then embraced Franklin's proposal and rewrote it (right). Jefferson's revision of Franklin's proposal was presented by the committee to Congress on August 20. Although not accepted these drafts reveal the religious temper of the Revolutionary period. Franklin and Jefferson were among the most theologically liberal of the Founders, yet they used biblical imagery for this important task."

"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned..."

And yet, in the 20th Century alone, even more people were killed by the social "isms" who sought to remove God and replace Him with the State. Thankfully, Christianity and Judaism have had their Reformations and Enlightenments...when will the secularists (and Islamists) have theirs?

Maybe you can answer this question for me. Why is the left so intolerant of Christianity? I don't understand the need to mock a religion. I go to church once in a while and, believe it or not, half of the people there are democrats. In fact, in my experience, more than half of the ministers I know are democrats. I have never heard a minister say anything remotely political. Oh, sorry, I guess you can't reply anymore.

Oh, and surely none of those quotes are taken out of context or anything like that. I mean, when Jefferson gave money out of the treasury to missionaries they must have been Bhuddist missionaries, not Catholics as the record records. And the church services he had held in the Capitol must have been Zoroastrian.

I didn't complain. I asked if the thread might be deleted. The mods often respond to such requests.

I'll type slowly and use small words.

The poster was banned.

The thread is stupid.

Why waste FReepers' time, and JimRob's bandwidth, on it?

Well, okay, I did use one long word.

Here are a few of my favorite Thomas Jefferson quotes, but I am sure these have know particular meaning to the trolls.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
- Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
-Thomas Jefferson

Every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state.
- Thomas Jefferson

The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time.
- Thomas Jefferson
