Tonights Sci-Fi Listing:

7/6 - Firefly: Showing repeats and showing the previews for the movie Serentiy..

8/7 - Stargate Atlantis: Special 2 hour season finale. Atlantis has much improved... Ford is gone, the ship awesome, so far I give Atlantis a B..

10/9 - Battlestar Galactica: Pegasus.. The Battlestar Pegasus appears.. Well Battlestar Galatica started off slow, but it is getting better.. I give it a B

I really didn't watch the first incarnation, but I've been disappointed with the feminization of Battlestar. Apollo is now female and the only crew member not completely inept.

Starbuck has Appollo's testicles in a lockbox.

If you didn't watch the first Battlestar, how do you know it has been feminized? BTW, Starbuck is female, not Apollo. :)

I wouldn't call Tigh, Adama, the Chief, Helo, at all feminized.

Great show that is only getting better.

Congratulations on your anniversary.

Threshold is also on tonight, I believe. It'll be the first episode since last week's two hour pilot. I thought it was pretty neat. Creepy, but reasonably intelligent, kind of like an updated Andromeda Strain.

Cheers
Jim

And Starbuck is more of a 'man' than I am . . . she's got the biggest cohones in the fleet.

Feminized?

This show has the strongest female characters I've seen in Sci Fi for a very long time.

Take my love. Take my land. Take me where I can not stand.

I don't care. I'm still free.

You can't take the sky from me...

According to the EP's podcast, they were in refit, so their pooters were already down. They made a blind jump when the SHTF.

I don't know how you can call it feminized.

Every significant gain the Cylons have made has been through Colonial pants ;^)

Galactica and I believe stargate Atlantis, is the season finaly.

I have my old primitive VCR timer set (for Galactica) as I will probably be snoring before it is over....

As far as "Battlestar Galactica" goes...

I bit my tongue, and gave them lattitude on "Starbuck is a woman"...turned out well.

But Michelle Forbes (looking GOOD, btw) as Admiral Nella Cain?! Admiral?! Cain ALSO is a woman? Ro Laren makes good?

Again...I'll hold my nose, and give it a shot...but they are REALLY pushing the P.C. button hard here!

Yeah, I wouldn't say the show has been feminized. More like the female characters have been masculinized insofar as they are strong, competent, independent, and resourceful. They don't stand back and watch in wide eyed horror as the men fight, they get in there and trade jabs, get their nose bloodied, get shot at, etc.

Good news--Your old primitive VCR timer is safe from any Cylon viruses.

Apollo is a liberal.

Frankly, I wonder if he's not a poofter... Baltar too! Some of the interaction between those two in the behind-the-scenes show makes me wonder.

Agreed.

If there's one thing my wife can't stand, it's the stereotypical screaming woman when the SHTF.

"Shut-up, you dumba$$! They'll hear you!" ;^>
