The remains of a American Indian settlement along the Nemasket River, inhabited 6,000 to 7,000 years ago, may be excavated to make way for a subdivision of nine new houses... Flint, pottery, bones, stone tools, spear points and arrowheads have been unearthed by Christopher Donta, senior project archaeologist with the University of Massachusetts. The developer, Elliot Schneider of AGS Development, is footing the bill for the dig, which is expected to cost more than $100,000.
