...I'm still trying to figure out why they didn't foam the runway...I read that they don't do that anymore because they found that the aircraft would lose directional control on the slick surface.

observation confirmed. sometimes posting here -- even posting the obvious -- can be like throwing meat to a pack of hungry hyenas.
